I like them all for different reasons and all have been put to a decent amount off work, but for best " value " IMO you can not beat a German made Boker, when you factor in price, F&F , steel, and overall performance, it's the winner of the ones I own. If you shop around you can find them in the lower end of the $30 range.

The yellow Moore Maker ( gift from Gevonovich ) is a close contender solid working mans knife.

Howdy Fellers'

I gonna join the Stockman crew here with one of my favorite knives, it's a Ken Erickson shadow Stockman in
CPM D2 with yellow linen micarta covers. Beautiful craftsmanship from one of the best in the business.

Case Sowbelly Stockman:

The Sowbelly pattern is by far my favorite and most comfortable to use stockman. Great pocket knife.

WHen I was young I carried an 80T for years, for some dumb reason while at collage I switched to a Buck and some how the 80T got lost, I really miss that knife. I keep meaning to hop on Steal-Bay and look for another but I havn't. It was the best of the breed for me. Steven

The Case small stockman is my favorite stockman. I find that at only 2 5/8" closed that it fits in the watch pocket of Levis without really knowing it's there. I have 2 of them now and find that as an edc it works quite well.

that green remington 9501 is the same knife as the buck 307 , but with carbon blades and different scales , both were made by camillus for remington and buck - both great knives , a little big for the pocket, fits perfect in a buck 112 leather sheath , both are now out of production , but can still be found unused on the bay , i have both and love both of them.

Schrade Old Timer is the way to go. 34OT if you want something in the medium size range, or 8OT if you want something larger.

Some great looking stockmans. I've gone back to carrying the stockman about 3 years ago as my normal edc. I have a few that gets rotated. I have a Case 18 in CV that's seens a lot of use. Currently its been my Buck 307 that has won me over. I really like the older Bucks. Nothing wrong with the new ones that I'm aware of but I just like the flat grinds on the pocket knife better that came on the old ones.

Heres a Bulldog I carry a lot in fall and winter.

My abused Case .

Forgot my 307

I have hesitated to jump in here, because I have such little experience with the stockman. Except for one Böker Tree Brand 8113 I carried in my tool belt back when I was building boat docks in the late 1980s, I have always preferred two blade jacks. It was not until I came here, and got bit by the stockman bug when it was the traditional of the month a little over a year ago that I began to carry and use one regularly. I have picked up a handful of stockman knives since, and now find the sheepsfoot to be one of my favorite and most useful blade shapes.

This little Craftsman by Schrade was my first, and it is still carried when I need something light and small, with various blade options.

A little larger, but still compact, is this Case 6344. It is a beater knife for sure, but those thin sharp blades can handle just about any cutting task.

Seeing how much I loved my 6232 jack, someone recommended I try the 6332 stockman. I found one, and it has quickly become a favorite.

I picked up a Schrade 834, and I like this one for its jigged delrin, but primarily for the large sheepsfoot (shown here below its 832 sibling).

But without question, my favorite stockman is this Schrade 832. Love the wood handles, and it just feels right in my hand.

I picked up this Queen made Robeson to replace my lost Case blue bone 6318. I like it this 4" model better than my old 3.5" model.

The Stockman has been a favorite pocket carry or EDC for me. I've been carrying one for 50+ years.
On the right, third one up from the bottom is my Dad's Case. It is 50+ years old and still worthy of any job you can give it.

Two Trappers on the top also find pocket time.

4 1/4" CV Case 6375 Large Stockman with amber jigged bone covers. The knife is 4 1/4" closed with the main clip blade being 3 5/16" long, the sheepfoot blade being 2 1/4" long, and the spey blade being 2 3/16" long. The bolsters are pinched which sets the knife off nicely.
