Your Favorite Tough Folder

I'd like to hear from everyone about what their favorite tough folder is. Now we all know a fixed blade is stronger, but sometimes, for whatever reason, we need the convenience of a folding knife that can handle hard use/borderline abuse. I'm not asking about which is technically the best, when you examine lock strength and steel choice, etc, but which is your favorite. Which do you grab most often, because you like it? Maybe you like the looks of it, or the feel, or its capability and toughness. Maybe you have a history with the knife, or maybe you just think its an awesome buy for the money. Whatever the reason, what's your vote?

I like the Spyderco Manix 2. Its heavy, but in a reassuring way, the grip melts into your hand (or vice versa), the lock glides open and snicks shut, yet is incredibly strong, the steel, grind, and blade shape are useful, its made in the US, and its very affordable. I've used it on numerous hikes and camping trips, and for around the house work as well. Its never let me down. That's my vote.

Recon 1 gets carry time. Surprisingly, I also like carrying the Pocket Bushman. Very thin, very strong. With a higher end steel, it would be even better.

From my rotation, that would have to be one of my SMF's first and foremost. No contest amongst my knives although I have a few that are close.

But there is nothing more stout (and sexy at the same time) than the SMF's in my line up.

Lately my BM Lum LFTi has been rockin' my socks. It took a lot of 'doing' but I finally got that edge thin enough to cut really well and this is my first venture into the ever so lovely CPM-M4 :) Great size , rock freakin solid and after carrying an CQC7 , Tanto Blur and this knife I swear by the superior utility of the tanto blade , I cannot recall how many times the tanto came to the job related rescue rather than being a nuisance , or a 'mall ninja-ish gimmick'.

Love my SMF. Have a Hinderer I haven't started carrying yet too, kinda interested to see what is so great about it, as I don't find any shortcomings with my SMF.

I carry my ZT 0200 quite a bit. It's heavy duty and a great knife.

I got a Boker plus Ressurection 2 recently. Strong knife with a blade shape like the ZT 030x and a little thinner cutting edge. There's a great Utube vid of very HD
use with this knife. Google is your friend.

Another for Recon 1 Tanto...Manix 2 is very tough, but I'm afraid the tip will break under too much stress...with the Recon 1 I don't have to worry about it.

My buck 110 gets the really 'dirty' jobs though.

I would have to say that even though I dont carry it my Andrew Demko Custom American Lawman is TANK TOUGH. Also Rick Hinderer XM18 and the framelock I carry that was made by Allen Davis is VERY WELL BUILT! Alan will not send you a knife with any blade play at all! Demko"s knife is as close to having a fixed blade as you can get! Any of those 3 will get the job done. Kevin :D

I like my SMF CC in 3V. Tough design that is easier to carry (CC vs. Lego). The 3V takes a very keen edge and is SUPER tough.

You'll have to find one used though...there aren't anymore left in the stores.

I just tossed a C95 Manix in the mail on a trade, I suppose that was tough. Ya....it was. I'd have to say my Ka-Bar Mule.
