Your Favorite Tough Folder

I try to only buy tough folders! I feel that my current edc list are all tough folders, starting with;

- LS SR-1
- ZT0200
- ZT0500
- JWS SD-3 G-10
- JWS SD-3 LSCF
- Mike Irie Model 11
- BM Bone Collector large
- Spyderco Vallotton
- Kershaw Speedform
- Boker Titan Defender
- BM 275 Adamas

These are the ones I've been edcing for the past 4 to 5 months. Though the JWS SD-3's are a beautiful knife to look at, they are built tough. Both have ~.080" thick liners, .157" thick blade, and both are solid at 6.5-6.6 ounces. The Kershaw Speedform is a solid little bugger that I bought because I had committed to one and later thought it would be a lightweight, was I surprised. The newest knife, the BM 275 Adamas is one tough customer so far!

I don't think I could pick just one from the above group as they are all equally tough in my mind!

With all this said though, my toughest chore on a normal day would be to cut cardboard, where most days are simply paper, and maybe sharpening a pencil. I like the idea of a tough, and stout folder which is why I gravitate towards them. I just feel that any of the above could hold their own with many other of the tough folders listed here.

Most will probably disagree, but I feel that my large sebenza is pretty damn tough. As long as you dont pry with it. ;)

Demko Navajah or DDR HD Maxx.

Para 2 and Stretch are both tough enough for me at work, and I use them a lot. What I like is that they are plenty tough for my needs without being overly heavy.

My strongest folder would have to be my Demko AD10. I also love my Cold Steel Recon 1.

Columbia River/Lightfoot M1 for several years. Cutting plastic, rope, rubber, and an occaisional encounter with metal. Sharpened easily, never any hint of blade or lock movement, and very comfortable. Recently swapped it out for a folding Razel, happy so far.

Yes, both have been pressed into service for lightprybar chores, with no problems.

Well I have to go with my SNG and Rat 1 for the real down and dirty jobs does 2 blades.

If I need strength I grab my Leatherman Wave. Everyone here chases the big overly thick folders for "hard use" when a multitool will out "hard use" any one of them. I guess multitools just aren't as sexy as 500 dollar customs.
