as for the topic, the orange mora and the oht, the pics are mismatched. the triflex hasn't seen much use but the orange mora's pretty much my main fb since i got it.

I like big blades for the woods these are some of my favorites. I also carry a SAK and a smaller fixed blade.

Longbow are those custom stocks on that SAK? I like the firestarter off the end of it, I will be borrowing that idea (my skull, while cool looking really does nothing) ; )

One or the other of these, (Ranger RD7 and Ranger custom 4 3/4" blade AUCK) depending on the weather and what I expect to be doing:

And an SAK. Of course, they will be accompanied by my other two EDC knives, an Opinel #8 and a Spyderco Native, and sometimes a Benchmade Vex.

Scott I am Green With envy You have some nice pieces.

Who made that Birch handled bowie in the top pic. I love the mosaic of the wood. it reminds me of a norwegian knife i have

It is. I bought it to stick in my PSK. It is fantastic for wood carving. The thin, low profile blade slices through pine, and dog wood like butter. I wouldn't want it as my main belt/neck knife, but it's a nice to have for whittling and fine woodwork.

Thanks for the response. I was thinking of getting one just for that purpose, finer detail woodwork. I think it'd make a nice knife to carry in the spring when there isn't much of a need to be chopping and such with larger knives.

Heres my RAT5 that I just got, with the edge reprofiled to a convex.
I would put the outrider in the utility pouch, but in an urban setting I would opt for the crunch.
The RAT is a great knife, but the sheath is pretty much crap. The snap closure had only 1 half of the snap, so I gutted the other half from a strap on the back for mounting on alice straps or whatever, and did a little sewing.
Also the knife has zero retention, and loudly rattles inside the sheath. I wil be getting a good one from Normark in the very near future.
I will have to think of some sort of piggyback system for it so I can mount on a fire steel and a sak.

Looks like your good to go for just about anything Liam.

I just got a BRKT Aurora.....I think it is going to be one of my new best friends...btw the sheath it came with has a fire steel loop. If I could only have two, the other item would be a vic trekker....but who can just carry two? I will try to get some pics tomorrow and put them up.

Well, I'd cheat and take three ;), But :( if I had to take only too, I would exclude the OH fireman.

Ironically enough, this site makes me realize I need a decent camera more then I need more knives.
Thanks up north, That rat5 is a hefty blade, when I choke back on the grip I can feel it would make a decent chopper, I can only imagine how well the rat7does in that regard.
Fonly, I know what you mean about "culling the herd" so to speak. We would both have no less then 10 sharps on us if we were out in the wild for an extended period.

In the first pic left to right, Bark River Golok, Marbles Trailmaker (Camillus made) Onatrio RTAK and Newt Livesay RTAK.
The second pic left to right, Cold Steel stag Trailmaster, Gossman Buffalo knife and Tusker.
I thinned the edge down on the Newt RTAK and it chops like crazy now.
The one you're asking about, the Marbles has a maple burl handle.

I was thinking it doesn't matter if its a trowel and ti spork...what is your favorite two tools to ride with you in the woods?

For me its a OHSAK Trekker (with some mods) and the Siegle "no name" Bowie (Blank, maybe).

Fun stuff! :D

Awesome thread, thanks for starting it! Keep those pix coming! BTW, that Siegle looks to be an excellent all-arounder!
