your favourite large stockman? show and tell

The Queen Cattle King is #49, not #9. I do have the slightly smaller (4") #9 Large Stockman with rounded bolsters. It's a very nice knife. I don't have any pictures of it though.

My biggest stockman is also my favorite. The venerable Case 6375 with CV blades and jigged bone that really pops.

Some very nice big old stockman knives here. Thanks for all the nice pics.

I am loving the Mooremaker the most.

And now I really want a Schrade Lumberjack.... 858.... one the few I do not have in my collection.:)

Ocellatus Thanks a lot, it's streamlined like a Porpoise or Dolphin, carries very well.

Jeff egad Sir! That Zebra is some highly cool wood :D The knives I've got in it I enjoy very much, wish Queen still offered it.

Also in the mix for my favorite big-boy stockman, a pair of black beauties from Boker and Cornwall:

my favorite of favorite ... just because. However, the Queen made Northwoods in D2 is slightly the better fit and finish of the two

This is my go-to working knife. It's big and sturdy. If the large Stockman doesn't fit the job then I go to a fixed blade.

The Solingen knives are really starting to grow on me. While not a "large stockman" (being on the larger end of "medium" in my estimation), my bone J"Pitt Bull" is just big enough to warrant consideration for daily carry. Plus it looks real nice. :D

I'm still not quite clear on the "misspelling" on the tang stamp is a trademark name or just a stamp error. I'm inclined to think it's the former with all the dog-related sub-brands out there...

My recent incorporation of a 6375 with CV blades (pictured earlier in this thread) is proving to be an excellent idea. It bridges the gap so nicely between larger fixed blades and my smaller Barlows and other "watch pocket" patterns. It is in my daily carry today, riding proudly in my left hip pocket. I like it so much I have another mint example on the way so I don't feel so bad about a little "pocket warfare" between my 6375 and whatever else might find its way in there. :D

My favorite would have to be my #81 stockman from GEC.
The knife itself was a gift from my family last Christmas, so automatically it's a favorite, but the miles I've put on it really make it mine. I grew to love the pattern after working on a produce farm for a number of years, you learn quick just how nice it is to have more than one sharp blade available. I've carried mine a lot of hours and the stag has mellowed for sure, each blade has it's own unique patina and the knife is overall just soaked in memory. I was doing some yard work around the house one day when I got a call that my brother's buddy shot a doe, not thinking anything I hopped in the truck and drove out to meet them in the field. Much to my surprise, (probably their planning) not one of them had a knife. I had my stockman on me and was pressed into duty. The stockman was more than capable for the dressing process and earned it's stripes as a good hunting knife that day.

I like this carbon one from Böker, Germany. Thick bone and good finish all round.

I've had this Buck 307 for 40 years. It's a constant companion when I go fishing. The Camillus has been with me for 45 years and is always within arms reach.
