Your knifes are cool but....

not being able to afford something is not a legitimate gripe with the company.

there are lots of things i would like to buy but my income does not allow this.

maybe porshe and rolex will adjust their prices to suit my spending desires.

if you end up getting bargain basement priced porshes and rolex watches give me a PM ;)

Why can't you make your blades easier to obtain. They are so exspensive that a common man could not even afford them. Even if a man could afford them, he could probley not find one! You market your blades "combat". Your knifes are not even use in a battle field, for a soilder could not even afford them on their salary.

Have you ever been a Solider, Sailor, Airman or Marine?

If so you would have witnessed first hand the stupid stuff that an 18 year old Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine spends his / her money on.

Tattoos. Stereos. Rims. Strip Joints. Alcohol.

A Soldier, Sailior, Airman, or Marine makes plenty of money to buy a Busse knife.

Here are the most recent pay tables:

And since we're like actually AT FRIGGIN WAR they get the Combat Zone Tax Exclusion which leaves them even more money to buy a Busse.

LOL. When i first joined at 17 the first thing i bought was a brand new $25,000 car. Single and lived in the barracks and i still just ate bologna sandwiches, doritos, and cherry 7up....with some alcohol mixed in there.:D

Now i preach to my soldiers-money management. If you manage your money right you can still enjoy some fine things.

We still dont get paid enough i think. With the hours worked and job we do, but we chose this profession so no complaining.

BTW the tax free combat zone exclusion is only when your overseas.

damn straight. the most i ever spend on is going out to eat once a week max, the occasional short trip, and a knife if there's something i really want.

BTW, the tax free thing is only when deployed. i wish i could get tax free pay just for being oversees

dont they take x numbers of dollars out of your pay check to eat at the dinning facility if you live on base? as some who who is leaving for basic 3 weeks from today im just curious. my dad 9 (air force) said the food was a it was a little better than bologna sandwiches .lol

p.s i know off topic but i think this thread is kind of beating a dead horse now.lol

Hey now be nice, I make a living being a proffesional Tattoo Artist. Stereos, rims, strip joints, alcohol are stupid things to spend money on, but the only thing that last longer than a Tattoo is a Busse knife..

My apologies!

No offense was intended!

Pete120,

Congratulations on finding your way to one of the finest group of knife enthusiasts on any forum. Additionally, you are fortunate to have discovered a family of knives (Busse Knife Group – Busse Combat, Scrap Yard, & Swamp Rat) with few rivals when it comes to toughness, variety, quality, price, warranty, and customer service. If you are serious about obtaining a top quality knife for any purpose, you have found a great source.

Military Service - this old Vet has personally put three Busse Group knives in the hands of military professionals currently serving in harm’s way. These knives have served without failure and earned their place among some of the best. Many other military pros have saved and purchased their own favorite knife, including some from the Busse Group and some more expensive.

Affordability – Back in the day, my first month’s paycheck from our rich Uncle Sam was a grand total of $358.00. Back then, within the SOF group, we were issued Camillus U.S.N. Mark 2 dive knives (see my old original issue antique below along side my current favorite Busse). The old Mark 2s were good old knives, but when I had the opportunity to buy my own, I saved until I had enough dough to buy the best at the time. Serious business requires serious tools. To date, I have yet to hear a military pro say they are not willing to save and invest in the best.

Opportunity - I don’t have a chance to visit this forum and post as often as I would like; however, your post made me want to help encourage you to take the time and learn more about great knives from a great bunch of folks. Spend some time here and learn. Save some of your hard earned dollars and invest in your first Busse Group knife. Use it hard and I’m confident you will appreciate what goes into making a first class, hard use knife.

Selection – Go over to www.youtube.com and type in Busse Knives, Scrap Yard Knives, or Swamp Rat knives, or go to www.hogcult.com, www.lundestudio.com/bussecombat.html, or many other great sites with illustrations of Busse Group knives. Pick out what will serve your immediate needs, then go to the WTB section here at blade forums and post what you would like to buy. You might be surprised how many opportunities you will find to make your first purchase.

Pete120, if this falls on deaf ears, that’s ok… the opportunity is always here. You may soon have the privilege, as I did, of purchasing your first Busse from one of these fine folks.

yeah the food is better than bologna sandwiches (at least in the AF).
dunno if other branches do it exactly the same, but in the AF you get paid full BAS, but they take most of it out if you live in the dorms (and thus eat on meal card).
good luck in BMT

I asked one of my Army friends how that worked.

He said if you live on base, it's free to eat on base.
If you live off base (bases have really been downsized, so, once you're above a certain pay level (IIRC above E-3), or are just there on TDY, it's likely you'll have to live off base. If you live off base, you sign up for a ration allowance and give you $24 per day ration allowance.

When I was in, the food I had on base was some of the best I've ever eaten. Our cooks really made some great meals. I even miss the C-Rations some....

I appreciate all the replys you guys gave my thread. I was not knocking Busse Combat knifes or Mr. Busse. I am just giving the other side of my feelings toward Busse knifes. I hope to own one in the future. I hope you guys still welcome me. I hope you won't slit my throught with a bm! Love you guys

No, No, No.......When Porsch did make bargain basement priced cars.......you did not want them.......think crappy late 80's versions, where the stock Chevy S10 pick up out accelerated them 0 to 60!

My neighbor had one of those.......it was like a big poorly made riding lawn mower.........

The shame of those years almost ruined the company!
