Your Knives--Where do you keep 'em?

Interessting question... I usually keep em in a drawer... but many of them are around somewhere in the house or in the toolbox... I need definitelly get a case or a cupboard for them... ;)

Kind regards

I spent a great deal of time looking for the perfect knife-storage without spending a fortune. I can say this - Hobby/craft places have doll-house furniture like dressers/chest-of-drawers (and sometimes Jewelry box kits) that are usually unfinished. These will sometimes work and they're made of wood and you can finish them to your desired look.

You can look for jewelry boxes that are big enough, but if you have any sort of larger knives - they probably won't work (until you get into super-expensive boxes).

Also (and this is what I ended up going with), you can get those fake-books at the same hobby/craft shops. I found some foam-project board (like for science-project displays - you could probably also use Balsa Wood) to divide them up. I plan on covering them with Felt or something, but it works for now as a proof-of-concept.

I keep mine on the bookshelf when I leave the house so they're fairly inconspicuous (I've got lots of books).

In their boxes or in zippered pouches in a couple of drawers in the bedroom. They like to sit in the dark until they're put into a pocket.

A craftsman rolling and locking tool chest. You can get them in black, so they look ok in the house, and they have rubber drawer mats that keep the knives in place. Works great, with a big bottom drawer for boxes and sheaths. You can leave the wheels off and they are a bitch to steal!

My MO exactly, except I think mine is a Husky.

Many other knives are spread around,

...stashed with other tools in vehicles,

...in various pre-loaded bags, packs and boxes, ready for deployment,

...hidden with guns and ammo in fall back positions,

...and on the kitchen Mag-Blocks. :D

Steel pick-up truck box bolted to the floor of my house with a high-grade padlock on it.

One of my gun safes has several small shelves on the side of the rifle racks. Used to keep mags there until I had to many to fit and they needed their own cabinet. Safe has a Goldenrod dehumidifier which is important as home is in Florida.

I keep most of mine in their individual boxes inside The Big Box O' Knives™ inside my office.

I Used To Keep Them In Their Boxes Or Whatever In A Shoe Box And A Tote.
Now I Got A Large 3 Drawer Cart From Wally World In My Favorite Color Lol.

I guess I am more of a collector then a user. I have about 70 knives primarily , Case, Kershaw, Buck and Rough Rider wih a couple of novelty knives. i display them in a wall to wall book case in my upstairs den. No locks just prayers that no one will try to run off with any of them. I truly enjoy looking at my collection on a daily basis. Of course, like many of you I am always looking for the next knife to add to my collection.

All over the place fits me pretty well. Some of the nicer ones are in TomWay boxes.

I don't have the issue of kids running around. I keep my knives in a drawer on my computer desk, but its overflowing and now I have a couple just strewn onto the desk itself.

My mother gifted me a leather case thingy that use to be used for jewelry, it has a bunch of tiny tiny drawers in it that are just big enough to fit a single knife in box, and a few slightly larger drawers to fit slightly larger knives in box. Its actually pretty gender neutral looking so I'm going to transfer my knives there soon enough. it also locks although I don't think I'll use that function

I don't have the room for big cabinets and I worry about theft so I keep my knives hidden away in a locked box where they are relatively safe from other people. A lot of these knives are my collection of handmade fixed blade knives and those are stored either in old socks or wrapped in small rectangles of thin bubble wrap. I lay the knife on the bubble wrap, roll it up part way, then lay the sheath down and roll it up the rest of the way. This keeps them together but not touching. I have a few knives that are still in their original boxes. I have a few of my cheaper knives and multitools in a drawer where I can get to them if I want to switch out my EDC.

I collected knives a long time ago and haven't bought very many in several years, now I've been interested in buying again. There was one fixed blade knife I was looking for so I could take some new photos but I have not found it yet. I was interested in another cheap production fixed blade as a utility knife but haven't bought one yet. I was going through my records stored on my computer and found that I already bought that same knife some years ago! I forgot about buying it and I don't know where it is right now. I've got to do some searching to find it.

I find it sad when people have a nice collection of quality knives yet only EDC cheaper knives.

I take pride in carrying high quality knives everyday.

Every time I use one it make me feel good.

keep stuff that is in my daily rotation on top of my dresser, and anything that has moved out of my daily rotation goes back in its box and in an old 50 cal ammo can.
