Your Knives--Where do you keep 'em?

I find it sad when people have a nice collection of quality knives yet only EDC cheaper knives.

I take pride in carrying high quality knives everyday.

Every time I use one it make me feel good.

The wording of my description might have been wrong.

I have a lot of knives in my collection, mostly fixed blade hunting knives, that I want to keep safe and I would not consider for EDC. I have a good collection of folders that I do use for EDC, and rotate through them to some extent. The ones that won't be carried for awhile are the ones that are hidden away. The cheaper ones in the drawer are the beater CRKT M16, the Kershaw Blur, the mini-grip, a few multitools, things like that. Right now I'm EDCing a PM2 M390 sprint which is the most expensive folder in my collection. When I'm ready to rotate through some of my other good folders I'll pull them out of hiding.

I'm not an avid hunter but I like to collect hunting knives. If I was an avid hunter I would feel the way you do about having a lot of good hunters but actually using a cheap one.

Nothing personal my friend.

It just surprises me how many people don't enjoy the pleasure of using their best knives.

I revel in it.

Note the knives in EDC tray. One by Tony Bose, One by Reese Bose.

Knives do not get any better than that regardless of the style and who made them. They get carried and used.

I also collect daggers although I do not use them. :D.

Before I cleaned it up some. I keep the fixed blades I use outdoors and the little box next to the cabinet.

The wooden car was made for me by my grandfather when I was a little one.

All over the place.
Some in upstairs safe, some in downstairs safe, some in wood cabinet upstairs, some on my dresser drawer, a couple on my nightstand, some on my entertainment center, some on the book shelf beside my chair, a couple on the mantle, a couple in the truck, a couple in a BOB. That's the main places I always have knives.
Yeah, I'm single, and can get by with using them as house decoration, lol.

I keep my in 2 drawers next to my computer. I usually take them out and play with them while I surf the net and stuff. Don't have any kids to worry about, so they are unlocked and within reach.

Some people are collectors, as well as users. And a lot of collectors keep in mind that they may sell their knives in the future. Using a knife greatly depreciates the knife's re-sale value.

I agree that using high quality knives is more fun. But just realize that not everyone owns knives for the same purposes as you.

Just a thought...

I don't have a picture of it, but I keep them in a Rubbermaid 3 drawer stackable organizer. I line the drawers with the soft material that you line cabinets with, I forget what it is called.

Your Knives--Where do you keep 'em?.

Today one in my pocket and one on my belt, the rest I'm still looking for. :D

Currently I use a couple of large Pelican rifle cases but think I like the decorative wood tool chest idea.
