Your Longest-Running User Knife?

Lets get this thread going again. I carried two SA Tinkers for 10 years. Each lasted 5 years then completely fell apart. Then I started carrying a Leatherman Skeletool that my mother got me for Christmas one year. I carried it for several years then retired it due to the blade steel being garbage. Now I rotate almost daily from a PM2, BM 585, 710, and 940. Case medium Stockman in CV is always my back up blade.

I carried a Black SAK for many years. It was beat up and used hard. Then I somehow lost it. I looked everywhere but never found it. I could get another but this one was a gift and another one just isn't the same.

I have a Camillus camp folder that my folks bought at theSears Boy Scout department in 1966...Yes, they sold Cub Scout and Boy Scout Uniforms and other official items at Sears stores back then...I was twelve. I carried it until I went into the Navy. My father took possession of it and used it to cut shingles and do other abusive things with it. I got it back in 1976 after he died. It sat in various drawers in various places for the next forty years. One day I came across it and decided to clean it up. The plastic handles had shrunk and curled at the edges some. The blades were black but there was no rust...So, I cleaned it up and oiled the joints. I carry it now and then since then.
I too remember when Sears sold scout gear and even had a sporting goods section where they sold shot guns and John boats.

My longest carry, would be a Cold Steel Recon 1 mini clip point blade, I carried it for about 2 years everyday. My current carry rotates between Benchmade Griptilian 550 and ZT 0560 BW.

Spyderco all stainless plain edge Endura. Primary EDC for nearly 7 years.

I carried my AFCK 800 everyday for 20 years before retiring it. As bonus it was magnetized.

I still carry a Victorinox old cross Pioneer from sometime in the early '80s. Bought it new.

After carrying an Endura daily for about 2 years about eight years ago,I began to carry other knives. The Endura with hap40 steel is back in my edc rotation ,and is in my waistband now.

That would be my Seamus knives Cracked Uber, I have had it & carried it for 4 years.

Fixed:
•A 4.75" J. Martinni leuku. purchased from his shop in Finland. given to me new in the 60's.
•Camillus USMC, given me by my uncle upon his return from 'Nam in about '68.
•One of my babies -- original Tekna Ocean Edge from the '70's.

Folders:
•My Schrade-Walden 108ot that I carried through high school.
•A Victorinox/Hoffritz Cutlery ltd. edition Champion SAK, purchased in the '70's.

Three are semi-retired now but I still take them out now and then for carry. The Tekna is still in my urban EDC rotation. The SAK's with me, packed somewhere, on any kind of trip.

EDIT: Just realized I've posted twice to this thread. Oh well, added a couple here.....

An SAK received '78, lost overboard in '85. Then a Buck stockman received '93, still have.

It isn't even close to my oldest knife, but the one I've EDC'd the longest nonstop is my black SAK Executive. Got it around 1999 and still EDC it everyday. The scales are scarred up, but still holding up.

I EDC'd an older-style SAK Spartan bought in 1981 until around 1997. Currently a newer one is one of my EDC knives.

Still this DDR custom AA-AXD. Over a year.

It must be the one on the top, Kullervo-puukko. Must be well over 20 years and still going strong. It has had multitude of uses from cleaning fish and game to whittling. I am sure it saved my life once, had to use it as an icepick to get out of an icy ledge.

This is kind of an old thread but worth keeping the good ones going I think.

Well as Rudolph’s Dad says “ Myyyyyyyyyy LITTLE buuuuuuuck “.

This one’s an EDC from thirty years ago; carried a whole lot; still a perfectly functioning knife. Hasn’t been out in a while but I think you are about to get me to change that.

. . . think I will introduce him to the Edge Pro and see how they get along.

It’s been re ground, I arced a divot out of the edge early on while cleaning a battery post for a Damsel in distress (think Mae West; no wonder I couldn't keep my mind on the battery; I still remember her WOOF !).

errrrr . . . whaaaah ? ? ? . . .
Oh yah . . .
While I was grinding out the divot I went on to polished the whole blade from factory sanded to mirror polish.

I was opening it “Wave” fashion before there was ever a wave : pinch part way open in my pocket then hook handle on pocket . . . see photos. These are old photos so ignore other stuff in the one photo.

I'd have to say the longest everyday carry would be my Northfield 53. I've had it for two years, and have carried it just about everyday. The only time it isn't in my pocket is when I'm caddying, in which case I only carry a SAK officer for its versatility, rust resistance, and ease of replacement. The knife I used longest was my Boy Scout edition SAK single blade, which I used for about 7 years, just not everyday. These days I predict that my opinel no. 8 carbon, which comes along everyday for heavy duty or abusive cutting and my Northfield will become the most used.

This pic is when the knife was new btw

I have an Emerson cqc7 spear point that was my only carry for 3 years. It served me well, and I still have it and carry it on occasion. Before that, I carried a small Sebenza exclusely for almost 4 years before it tragically got lost:(
