Your Longest-Running User Knife?

I carried my Spyderco SS Dragonfly every day for about 10 years. It's not my daily EDC anymore since nowadays I do a rotation which includes several GEC traditionals and another Spydie (a Kiwi 4) but it still gets carried at least once a week. It's the knife I'd keep if I had to get rid of all but one.

I picked this Delica up last year in a trade but I bet it's had a good run as a user.

Victorinox Explorer was my main edc since 1995 up to maybe 2005, it was in my pocket when I married and when my daughter was born.

Now I rotate different combinations of multitool and folders, I don't carry the explorer when going out of the house and it stays safely in my knives box most of the time, too much memories to risk losing or damaging it.

Fixed blade-wise it would be my Tekna Ocean Edge, marketed as a dive knife. Had it since the mid(?)-70's as I recall. It's been EDC'd as much or more as it's been with me in/on the water. Not only is it a classic knife but has a sheath unlike any other allowing the widest selection of carry options of any sheath I've ever owned. Handle wrapped in waxed leather for a while now since it doesn't dive anymore....still great in the boat, canoe, kayak or snorkling though.

For folders it would be my Victorinox/Hoffritz Cutlery SAK Champion purchased in the late 70's at Hoffritz Cutlery in Manhattan and used/carried in many places throughout the world. I also, miraculously, still have the Schrade-Walden 108 Old Timer I carried in high school. That would be the oldest knife I own. All are still in good condition, the Schrade having a questionable main blade lock these days.

My CRKT Hissatsu Folder that I bought when I was sixteen; so five and a half years. Even though my taste and collection have expanded to other styles I still love this one particular knife.

It always seems to find its way into my pocket.

Awesome to see someone else carrying a Hissatsu! The Hissatsu folder is what started my blade addiction when I was sixteen as well (5 years ago)

I can't remember the number of years I have owned this knife. The only thing that gets replaced is the lanyard from time to time.

Been carrying a nlack Tinker SAK everyday at work since 1992. The key ring wore out and I've had to fix the tip on the big blade but it still works great, and it doesnt scare the sheeple.

Bought in 1998 a Spyderco Endura Clipit in Spyderedge (full serrated) and ATS-55 steel. Been an EDC knife the whole time but I've only had it for a month. My uncle was the original owner and he was going to finally toss it and buy a new one after about 1/4" of the tip broke off. I said I wanted it so he sent it to me and I reprofiled the tip good, pointy and sharp and also added much needed jimping to the thumb ramp.

Although I have a dozen other Spydies, I'm happy giving this old Endura new life and is now my dedicated work blade along with a ZDP Manbug.

The same Victorinox Huntsman that started as my every day (and I mean *every* day) knife in 1986 is now my son's every day knife.

I switched over to a Victorinox Compact when I gave my son the Huntsman in 1998, and that's what's in my pocket today...and every other day.

my small sebenza 21 plain jane. Have had it going on 2 years now and i carry/use it 90% of the time, still going strong with some nice patina and working flawlessly. No complaints at all, great knife

I have a Camillus camp folder that my folks bought at theSears Boy Scout department in 1966...Yes, they sold Cub Scout and Boy Scout Uniforms and other official items at Sears stores back then...I was twelve. I carried it until I went into the Navy. My father took possession of it and used it to cut shingles and do other abusive things with it. I got it back in 1976 after he died. It sat in various drawers in various places for the next forty years. One day I came across it and decided to clean it up. The plastic handles had shrunk and curled at the edges some. The blades were black but there was no rust...So, I cleaned it up and oiled the joints. I carry it now and then since then.

I carried a LM Pulse that I got for my 16th birthday for a little over 10 years. since it would be difficult to replace, its in storage now, as its sentimental value is greater than its utility at this point. Not worth risking it.
I've tried to carry other knives consistently since then, but with too many choices, and too many very different needs, i have a rolling rotation. various SAKs, and others.

I bought my first real folder in 2002 when I started IPSC/USPSA/IDPA, every shooter carried one, never understood why, untill later when I really got into guns, shooting and reading Massad Ayoob, and thats how I started, bought a Spyderco Police full serrated later switched to emerson and countless others. As a kid always had at least one SAK

I carried a Kershaw Blackout for several years when I worked in food service and beat the snot out of it. The torsion bar broke and it was really dull. So being the foolish kid that I was I threw it in the trash.

I regret that often now that I realize I could've gotten a new torsion bar and just learned how to sharpen. But on the upside, I don't know if I would've gone on my quest to find that knife's replacement if I hadn't gotten rid of it (a quest which I'm still on almost 10 years later :)

Received this Swiss Champion in March 1992. It has traveled the world with me since. Finally sent it in to the Monroe, CT service center for a spa treatment and repair a couple of years ago.

The oldest I carried was my grandfather's knife but stopped due to fear of losing it.

The knife I carried longest nonstop as EDC in my pocket is a redbone boker pen I carried every day for over ten years.

The very first knife I bought with my own money was a Imperial hunting knife for Cub Scouts in 1956. It lives on my workbench, used often enough to make it feel important, but mostly as a memory maker. It's in rough shape, sharpened a lot, with electrical tape holding the scales on. But, it's my baby. Wish I had a picture.
