YOUR most expensive production folder?

Well I’m definately not rich, I spent $280 on a ZT 0804cf when they were new (Ik, I should’ve waited) and... “used” , I spent $390 on a 0452g10m390 because it’s practiaclly in new condition besides the clip and, it’s my favorite knife of all time so I had to have a 2nd one to carry now and then while my original stays in the safe lol

~$750, and I use the heck out of it ;)

I paid $350 for a Strider PT 11 years ago. I still have it but I realized that price is above my spending comfort limit. I seldom carry it for fear of losing it. I learned I'd rather have a several cheaper knives than one expensive one.
I would probably feel the same way unfortunately. I consider a $200 knife expensive. I find that folding knives in the $100-$200 range satisfy my quality requirements. I spend more on fixed blades. I find that I can do everything I need to do with a medium priced folding knife. The more expensive folder is almost always paired with a SAK (<$50) that I have carried for years and the SAK sees the majority of the use.

Thanks!

They label the finish as “entropic”, but also offer a “kinetic” finish as well.

In any case the finish is great in person, it is affected by both light and the moisture and oils from my hand making the colors appear darker at times.

Short version, it’s cool!!

My two most expensive were my Shirogorov 111 and F95T, both bought new from Russia for $850 plus shipping in late 2016 and early 2017. Those knives were retailing here in the US for around 1K at the time. My Shiro F95R which retails here for $1095 was bought on the secondary market for $750 in excellent condition (also sourced from Russia), resharpened with an almost imperceptible blade scratch. The Turtle is a work user and the other two are EDCs that get used, though not real hard.

The big inkosi released at blade two years ago. Particularly since it lied to me and told me I would sell the set of pale moon ebony inlays that were made of unobtaium if you werent at the show and pocket a couple bucks to take the sting off the tag.

The sale never came to be. Felt like I wouldve been pimping out the pretty things for the brutish massive inkosi

My most expensive was this Mini CQC-7.

I'm always conscious of the fact that my knife could get lost, stolen, or confiscated, any time I'm out in public. It's unlikely, but it's not impossible, and if that happens, how big of a "loss" (personal or financial), would it be? Turns out, the answer to that question means that I don't go above $200. I've looked at Hinderer, CRK, other Emersons, DPX, Extrema Ratio.... I can't do it.

This is in canadian dollars mind you. I have a few in the $200-250 range but technically, due to our border pirates stealing knives coming in from our southern cousins making knives (ex ZT) fairly scarce, my 0450cf is my most expensive knife I currently have. I absolutely refuse to spend upwards of $600 for a bare bones Sebenza.
