YOUR most expensive production folder?

Helle Dokka. It was $150, which is about twice what I spent on my previously most expensive knife. And worth every penny to me.

That thing is a beast, had one, sold it. I couldn’t close it with one hand so I won’t carry it.

Don’t worry it’s not a competition;) I have a Recon 1 in XHP also and it’s a great knife:thumbsup: Wish Cold Steel would have stayed with XHP.
Exactly, right now I’m actually carrying a $20 Z-hunter green zombie folder my son gave me! Don’t know who or where it was made but I like the blade style and my son gave it to me!

When you bought your Helle Dokka did it give you more info regarding the blade. The only thing that I see is "laminated steel." Did they say what steels involved?

BM Crooked River is my most expensive knife. I don’t see myself ever paying over $200 for a knife.

I paid between $100-200 for most of my edc knives. Several sold for ~$280 when released(such as zt0804cf and KW cf/ti s90v military) but I waited until they were ~$200 to buy them. But I always look for sales and/or site coupons for—or buy used—any knife over $100.
I buy US made knives almost exclusively, followed by Seki spyderco’s, or Maniango, or antique solingen made knife. If I ever visited or moved to China, I would probably mainly own and carry WE knives.

No, unfortunately, no real information regarding the steels used in the blade on their website or in the literature that came with the knife. However, there is a discussion about the Helle laminated blade steels on BF here:

I found post #3 and post #18 to be informative enough for my curiosity. In any event, the blade stays sharp a long time, touches up easily and seems quite robust for uses I have put it to (wood carving, cleaning fish and small game). I knew I liked the knife when I saw it on-line, but once I had it in my hand I really sorta fell in love with it. Something about the combination of wood and steel almost feels alive somehow. I know... I'm a bit odd.

Thank you for the links. Very informative.

It looks like a beautiful knife. I just like to know quite a bit more before I purchase.
