your most expensive user?

Probably still under $100.00 for me. I use all my knives, but the knife I beat on the most--cut wire, cardboard, sandy substances, blunt the tip on--is a $60.00 556 Griptilian.

Of course, the $120-ish knives I own are "users" too, they just don't get mistreated!

My edc is a Mission MPF 3 Ti plain edge, cost me $415.00 NIB, its the only knife I edc and use regularly. Don't hesitate to use it, knives are tools and tools are meant to be used, so I bought the best tool I could afford and now I use it.

Congratulations, this the best compromise to spend money with knives. I understand it now after 20 years of buying knives :grumpy:

I have never spent more than 200 dollars on a single blade. I have also never sharpened any knife less then 6 times. Yes, I use them quite a bit.

Definitely Ed Fowler's Pronghorn and Long Yearling. Prices : $1400-ish and $1000-ish respectively. Use exclusively for hunting. Why do I use such expensive knives ? For those who are fond of hunting, get one of Fowler's and you'll know. They are the cadillac of hunters :)

My most expensive edc knife is C2O. I don't know what is the current market price for C2O but it's worth every penny.

I carry a couple in the 150 to 200 range, not sure what the value of an original Lile folder is. Like many others here if I was afraid to carry it I wouldn't own it. I regularly carry guns worth $1000.00 so a high priced knife isn't that big a deal either.

Well what with the price that DA MTs are fetching currently, probably this one:

I got it in a trade and it was already customized some, then I had it pimped out more. I have no idea of it's value but figure its worth more than a couple of bucks.
Its in my pocket right now, but not doing much at the moment.
all da best,
rats...

My most expensive users are either the...ZT0200,Al Mar S2K,BM710D2,& various Spydercos..all around $75-$150 range.

If I carry anything over $200,I'm second guessing on whether to use it or not.

I carry a 200-300 dollar knife every now and again. Most of the time it is a Kershaw Random Leek, a 70ish dollar knife. The best way I have found to deal with the EDC problem is to buy a very good used knife that has already had the cherry popped. For some reason I just can't bring myself to put that first scratch on it. After someone else has carried it I have no problems carrying expensive knives. Plus, the price drop helps alot.

My Busse FBMLE is my most expensive user, at $700. That will probably be my most expensive knife ever. But one never knows about such things. A couple years ago if somebody had told me that I would someday plunk down $700 on a knife, I would have called them crazy.

The most expensive folder I use relatively often is a Chris Reeve Large Classic, Unique Graphic, Basketweave Damascus, Sebenza. However, I did cheat a little by replacing the unique graphic side plate with a standard bead blasted side plate.

I have a Busse AK47, while not an edc or a regular user, it is a user none the less, cost me AU$750. My User Busse Mud Razor was around the AU$380 mark.

It's not that I'm cheap or can't spend much on something I'll use or carry everyday, but I can't seem to carry & use a knife that I have over $100 in. I do EDC 1-2 handguns daily & any one of them is a good amount of $, but with knives, it's a little different.

Having said that, one of my EDCs is a small classic cobote wood inlay Sebenza that I've had since new, but I admittedly got it on a trade (Twice, actually) & don't have nearly as much into it as it originally cost.

So, as far as carrying & using knives, I guess I'm on the cheap side...:o

Police Spyderco knife is probably the most expenisive knive that I carry often.

I will be getting a few Swamprat and Scrapyard knives soon, and they will cost around $200-$250.

Somewhere along the line, spending more money is not going to get you a better knife--you are just paying for better artistry. If that's what floats your boat and it makes you feel good to carry, go for it! If you just want to own that $2000 knife, but don't want to diminish its value by using it, do that!

For me, I stop spending additional money at the point where I stop getting a better knife. And I don't buy it unless I plan on using it. That's just what happens to float my boat.

Works for me. I went through perhaps a dozen small folders before I discovered the Sebenza. Now they're sitting in the drawer and the Sebenza is always in my pocket. It's not a custom knife but it is an expensive one - At this point in my life I can afford to buy the best so I do.

I have absolutely no intention of trying to use all of my
Busse knives. However, if I decide that any one of them is the best choice for a particular recurring application, I would not hesitate to use it regardless of cost. Rarity might deter me, however, if it was one of a kind.

EDC to me is just that Every Day Carry. If you have rotation or occasional use or carry of a knife it is not EDC.

I have two that are my most expensive users. My $45 custom from George Anderson is my deer hunting knife.

Wait, I think my Buck 103 retails for more than that. You can probably get one for around $50.

My EDC is a Leatherman Juice S2 that I paid around $45 for. My EDC folder is a Kershaw Vapor that ran just shy of $20

Pick one of the four. They all work. I have had no problems with them. They sharpen fairly easily and stay sharp as long as I have needed. So for around $160 I have four blades that will do anything I need.

I think the most expensive knife I have used as an EDC piece was my Blade-Tech RIJBAK it was like 179. I will used any knife I buy and use it hard I just have not bought anything more expensive yet.
