your most expensive user?

I switch between three different knives depending on my mood or what my activities will be for any given day. At work (where they frown on knives period), I usually carry a small regular Sebenza with Unique Graphics, sometimes I carry my favorite Spyderco Native III. On weekends depending if I'm going "out there" or not, I will switch to a large Classic Sebenza. I have a small 3 inch Rick Hinderer XM-18 that I'm thinking about to start carrying. If I can find a large XM-18, I'll think of carrying that as well. I do have one knife that I will absolutely not carry and that is the Howard Viele/Long Miah "PUSH". That one is to just look at and admire.

use to carry a bm skirmish but i broke the clip so i just stick to a bm 710 with bk coating. Cost me around 120 dollars. I cant bring myself to use anything really over this price because no knives are better than the users I have anyway. They just look sexier is all.

I have two Strider AR's that I have found myself switching between lately. So, at $400 each, these would be my most expensive edc's.

A BM 960, BM 940, BM 530 and a BM 555. None of them overly expensive. They all cut like demos

I have a small classic Sebenza. When I first got it I was afraid to use it. 3 years later I use it alot. I don't need to baby it. It takes a beating and still looks very good.

I have a couple Sebenzas that have seen their share of use and abuse. They would be my most expensive users at this point. My current carry pieces are a Spyderco Military S90V, Cold Steel Voyager X2 and a Boker Jim Wagner folder, with the Military seeing most if not all the utility work these days. I put away the Sebenzas since they have sentimental value and I'd hate to lose one at this point.

That would be my Spyderco Military in D2, others come close in price, but that particular model is my max expense on a user-EDC

My most expensive knife would be my spyderco Military, cash wise.

The Military cost me about $150.00 usd, and that was because I didn't feel like waiting a week to get one off ebay. It has broken my record of carrying a single knife for over 30 days :D.

As for trades, it would be my Benchmade Rukus and my Emerson Commander.

The Rukus was actually gained from trading off my old Magic the gathering cards. Kind of funny, I guess those cards turned out to be a good investment of my time and money after all ;). The Commander was gained from trading a couple of SAK's and a SOG or two. That was because the Commander was my first "expensive" knife I ever got, so that was before I knew what the REAL retail price was for it. It was a great trade in the end. It was, and still is the most carried knife that I own. It's only taking a backseat now because of my increase in knife buying.

As you guys can tell, I'm not one for dropping 200+ cash for a knife that is going to be a user. I'd rather buy knives that I'll use for now, and if I get that urge to get a more expensive knife, I'll trade off my lesser knives for it.

My most expensive EDC users are a Strider AR and a Jens Anso Nemo.

My least expensive users are a Mora fixed blade and a classic SAK.

As a poor college student, my most expensive EDC is a BM 551 Grip @ <$70 usd. I probably wouldn't pay more than $100 for a user knife, except maybe a Leatherman...

I carry and use my Lone Wolf Double Duty daily. I actually use it to take the scales off knives I am putting stone scales on...... It is illegal to carry a switchblde here so I only use it as a manual knife when out and about.......

Rukus, full retail $260+tx, supporting my local knife shop
I think my ZT0301 full retail would be most expensive, but I bought it used around $200

My most expensive knife is a mini-griptilian, which I bought for $56.25 + shipping.
Most of my knives ran in the $20-$50 range.

I have nothing against folks who like expensive knives. I just haven't found the need to buy one.

my most expensive user is my emerson custom specwar CQC13, worth probably ~$1200 or so, i really like it too, & have edc'd it for the last 6 months or so..........

a few yrs ago i would have never dreamed i would have a $1000 pocket knife lol, my girlfriend still cant believe it lol.

The custom CQC must be pretty bad ass. You got any pictures of it?
My most expensive user is an emerson CQC 12 which I got for around 300 with shipping. I have been carrying it everyday since I got it. A $1000 pocket knife is a lot but knives are meant to be used right? I'm sure it's something she'll never understand like how girls purchase expensive purses.

EDC to me is just that Every Day Carry. If you have rotation or occasional use or carry of a knife it is not EDC.

...

Well, there are 3 knives that I regularly carry depending on my evaluation of the day's needs combined with how I feel when reaching for one...and at least one of them is carried every day. So to me (and many others), these count as EDCs, rotation or not...after all, if I didn't have any 2 of the 3, I'd be carrying the one that was left every day...

Back to the reason for the thread...

All 3 fall within the $50 to $70 street price range...a Kershaw Tactical Blur, a Spyderco D'Allara, and a Kershaw Leek. I have a number of others in my collection that are not carried, many of which exceed this price range. However, these 3 currently meet all my carry needs. I wouldn't hesitate to carry one of the more expensive ones if I really felt the need but would want to acquire a duplicate to put back for the collection.

Ray :)

Current EDC is a BM M5000 LE #9/50 Green/Black PE with a convexed edge. I babied this one for a few years before finally shoving it in a pocket.
