Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I want to congratulate everyone for the fine additions they're making to their knife holdings lately!:thumbup:

Today was a lovely mail day!

Pretty pair of pick-ups, Dadpool!! BTW, I really like your old SAK you cleaned up and showed in another thread recently!:cool:

A care package from my textile designer/artist girlfriend, a tapestry she designed with references from the resolza pictured below that she gave to me from her trip italy, my corgi and ginkgo leaves.
...

Very nice tapestry, Tim, and I enjoyed seeing your resolza again; love the horn handle.:)

Well I finally picked up a knife I've been wanting for awhile now and wanted to show it off.

I've wanted a Boker congress for awhile now and when I saw the carver I had to (and I found it for a great price).
...
It's a well made knife
...
And I really wanted to do one of those "knife stuck into a piece of wood on one blade" pictures that we all are used to seeing (it's nearly a requirement in this subforum;) ) but the knife had other ideas
...
And now it's officially mine
One from opening the spear point with its wicked pull and the other one from trying to slice into a stick and not realizing it was already spilt there

Can't wait to sharpen it some more and get to whittling.

Congrats on a good deal on a Boker carver, Neko!! That's been high on my wish list for quite a while now; I look forward to a report on its whittling capabilities/performance. :D:D Sorry to see the blood; for me, new-to-me knives are usually the most dangerous knives!:eek:

Found in the mailbox today with a surprise US Shelby Co. P38 tossed in ... nice
Thanks FortyTwoBlades (Baryonyx)

Very nice, Jim!:thumbup: I've been seeing those MAMs frequently here lately, and they certainly appeal to me. Is that a liner lock tab I see in your photo?

I have been busy as of late and have not posted any new ones. So here are my newest ones over the last month or so.
...

You've had a GREAT month bozack!!:thumbup::) (And did I later see a Northfield 77 barlow you added to your acquisitions? ;))

...This arrived last month, the week we lost my Dad...I just remembered it.

Schrade USA Scrimshaw 505 Cowboy Series - Hopalong Cassidy
...

Very cool Hopalong stockman, SAK Guy!!:p I'll probably order a Zorro barlow I saw at a dealer website not long ago, but it's just a reproduction, not the real thing like yours.

Buck 301 Stockman. My first stockman. I like it.
Congrats on the new Buck!!:cool: I hope to get a classic Buck this summer, but the 301 is probably a little too big for me.

Will have these next week:

I recently received two knives via the generosity of Paul Hilborn!:D

One is a teardrop jack clad in buffalo horn, with secondary blade reprofiled by Paul into a coping blade. It also features a superb EO notch that Paul is known for. I've developed an affinity for horn handles in the past 5 months, and recent threads on buffalo horn knives have had me drooling. In addition, I've "had a thing" for 2-bladed EO teardrop jacks for quite some time. So this gift from Paul is really a "grail knife"!

Paul also sent me another fantastic knife that I didn't know much about, but I'm trying to learn more about it and it seems to be a knife with quite a reputation! It's a Winchester dogleg jack, made by Queen (I think) for Blue Grass Cutlery using old stock Utica bone. It's one of several patterns of such knives, collectively known as "black box Winchesters". Very interesting history, but what's even better is just having the actual knife in hand. The jigging is AWESOME!

Two great knives, Gary. A couple of grail-worthy ones right there.

That Paul guy is all right! :D

Might be on the fringes, but I think this qualifies as a traditional: Moki Blakiston's Fish Owl (smaller version). Some details: micarta scales + linerless = light as a feather; nail nick, but easily pinchable with a relatively weak pull (ok by me); and by far the best fit of the few folding knives that have passed through my hands - when locked open, the tang and backspring are flush (in low light you can barely see where they meet).

One of my grail knives as I must have been on another planet when these were being discussed. Very good job by GEC and it's also my favorite type of main blade!
