Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

It would be helpful to many here i'm sure if the knives posted were identified. Instead of posting "I just got this neat knife" followed by a picture, how about "I just got this GEC #33 pattern" (or whatever the knife is).
RDaneel, what pattern # is the GEC knife you posted on previous page ?

KJ Let me provide an answer, the knife he shows in an excellent photo is a 2013 Forum Knife made by GEC in off white micarta, extremely well-finished knife. Pattern No. on the tang 133213

Thanks, Will

Good point, thanks.

Thanks for the assist, Will.

I just got this little Schatt & Morgan Sleeveboard via the Exchange (thanks, IABIGBUCKGUY!):

I believe it's from their first Keystone series; I'm uncertain of the year. One thing I like about it is the combination of good handle length (3 3/8"), enough for me to get 3.5 or 4 fingers on there depending on grip, with light weight -- just 1.2 oz.

It's my first Sleeveboard, and so far I like the pattern. It will absolutely vanish in dress pants or shorts.

I assume this isn't the average catch of the day. ;)

Oh how I wish it was the average ;) Thank you Dadpool and it just so happened that all the packages would end up arriving on Friday.
No more knives till the 15 scouts come out...at least my wallet hopes so.

My second Barlow (also my first stag handle, and the oldest knife I own) came in the mail today, a 1982 Case One Arm Man:

I love this knife! The stag is gnarly and gorgeous, and the long pull looks marvelous on this pattern. The pull is a 5 on the main and a 6 on the pen, with lovely walk and talk. The main blade can easily be pinched open, and both have half-stops. Unlike some razor-style blades I've seen, the main actually comes to a point, albeit a small one; it would pierce the tape on a package, for example.

It looks like it's been in storage for its entire 33 years -- I cleaned off a bit of stuff here and there, but apart from some mild discoloration on the ends of the bolsters and along the liners, it's pretty much cherry. I can't wait to carry it.

Just received my Rough Rider pattern #1203 Blue and Black Swirl Melon Tester (a.k.a. Toad Stabber) in the afternoon mail. I was surprised at the quality of the knife for the price. (For less than $10 I wasn't expecting much.)

If I could post a picture, I would. Perhaps someone could help me here.

Captain O

Thanks!

I just discovered that if you use your finger as the anchor point for the "one-arm open," that little pointed nubbin on the top of the main blade is also quite sharp...

Great Stag Barlow Dadpool:cool: thanks for the friend request earlier:thumbup:

Likewise on the friend request and i looked up the case as soon as I saw your post on 'what do you have on order' and it's better in your photos than stock. Looks like a knife with a sizable and comfortable grip~

dadpool, you are in for many treats because your oldest knife is from 1982. Wait til you get the in hand experience of vintage USA folders, say 1932, or 1902, or 1886. The quality prior to WW II was very high and there are examples 'out there' just as pristine as your 1982 Case.
There is a learning curve to finding the really good examples and it's a fun ride as you learn. And, there is always more to learn no matter how many years you've been at it.
