Cleaned up a bit and laying out with a few new rust bath friendsThe markings on the bolster look like your Barlow was made in Germany. Cool. The bone scales look really good.

That Ulster is gorgeous!! I need to dump some money on getting a great condition one like that. All my pre 70's knives have blade lose and I would really like a nice example like that. It's hard to drop 50-100 on a vintage knife when I can get a brand spankin new GEC for similar price though!
Thank you KP, it's passed through a couple hands on here and I agree, this one is very tight though on both blades with exceptional snap/walk and talk (better than some of my GEC'sThey're definitely hard to find with full blades but they're out there.
tdkfm, that Bower German Barlow is super cool; I'd never heard of that brand before, but it looks classic. Congrats!!Cleaned up a bit and laying out with a few new rust bath friends

Congrats on the new "multi-purpose knife", HFinn!:thumbup: I'm not a big fan of corkscrews on pocketknives, but I have to admit it looks very good on your Linder/Klaas!This Linder/Klaas.

Whoa, what wonderful wood, Tim; triple congrats!:thumbup::thumbup: Each one has a lot going for it. Others have already mentioned how special that old Ulster is, I think the 85 2-blade teardrop jack is absolutely iconic, and if that houndstooth is the one you showed recently on a Cape Cod fence post, its grain is spectacular!Wood Mailcall

I've got a 30's E C Simmons keen cutter dogleg jack, and my god that thing walks and talks better than any knife I have handled and has a solid 8 pull on both blades, too bad the previous owner like to sharpen with a belt grinder![]()
