Took a short vacation and this was waiting for me at the Post Office when I returned. GEC #76 Western Outlaw. The walk and talk on this knife is superb on both blades. Comparable to my Case/Bose Norfolk which had the best walk and talk of any knife I've ever owned until now.

A fine pick up, Harry! I have often thought about picking up a sharp finger. I have read so many good opinions on the pattern. The Case barlow looks like a winner and i hope to see more of it. It should be fun cleaning up that Cat. Great knife right there! A friend has one and its a beast of a knife.

Very nice Rick!!! #76 is a great pattern, and that yellow rose is wonderful! Enjoy! Here's mine

Thanks, Peter. Your Outlaw Jack is a real looker too. I used to have one myself a few years ago but I gifted it to another forum member. It was also the Yellow Rose version. Very nice knife in any configuration.

I recently sold off a bunch of my collection to help pay a mountain of bills. After most of the important bills were paid I was able to score a good deal on a Case/Bose Lanny's Clip. I've wanted a custom Lanny's Clip for quite some time. There's no way I can afford something like that right now with my health situation, so the Case/Bose was the natural choice. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the fit and finish. It's not without a couple minor issues, but nothing to get worked up about. I expected a lot smoother walk but perhaps I can flush the joint and re-oil. The shield sits very proud of the bone covers. Two other members I have talked to said theirs is the same. It is roughly 1/32" high and the edges are sharp (or maybe crisp is a better word). The covers are quite different between the mark and pile sides, but I kind of like the character. Especially of the pile side.

Here is a vintage folder with bone covers that look remarkably like a recently made GEC #15 camel bone:

It is a 3 1/4" Shapleigh/HDWE Co./St, Louis, MO.

Pretty neat i think !

Nice Lanny's Bob. Those "sawcut" striations on the pile side are interesting. I don't recall seeing that on any other Case/Bose LC's.

Real nice LC Bob. Mine is about the same as yours in most ways. These are really nicely built knives for the most part, but not as close to a nice custom as some people think. Enjoy!

Old Engineer, Harry

Interesting pick ups there. From an area where I lived from '70-'82. Union Bank & Trust (on the Barlow) was where I banked back then. Curious of the printing on the case under the Multi-tool on the right side????

Same here Mike. It was a surprise to me as well.

I can only imagine Mark. Maybe some day I'll be able to get a full custom. For now, I'm happy with this one.

Thanks Fellas.

Bob, i have or really have had, a lot of custom folders. Not every custom is better than a well made production knife, so you need not feel like you are missing out by not having a custom folder. There are heaps of Great production folders 'out there'.

Found this one yesterday at an antique shop. It's fun to find stuff like this even if it's not really rare or valuable. Bang for the buck ratio is very high! :)
