Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Last Rodeo,

My Case TB6339 Chestnut Sowbelly has striations similar to these on the pile side also, except they are running end to end direction 1 3/4" of 2 3/4" of the bone almost as if ground down to thin down to the same thickness as the mark side.

A fine pick up, Harry! I have often thought about picking up a sharp finger. I have read so many good opinions on the pattern. The Case barlow looks like a winner and i hope to see more of it. It should be fun cleaning up that Cat. Great knife right there! A friend has one and its a beast of a knife.

Thanks Gevo : The Catt is a real beast and I was very happy that the picture I saw on the computer ad turned out to be a Catt. I drove 350 miles to have a chance to bid on the Case Barlow and maybe the big old straight blade. I got the Sharpfinger for such a decent bid that I had to take it and it might have been used a couple of times. The real sleeper there was the white handled Camillus that was an unknown brand to bidders. I will get the Catt cleaned up and posted later. The Case Barlow was carried enough to wear off the saw cut.

Old Engineer, Harry

Interesting pick ups there. From an area where I lived from '70-'82. Union Bank & Trust (on the Barlow) was where I banked back then. Curious of the printing on the case under the Multi-tool on the right side????

Don

Thanks Don : That was our bank also when we lived in Greensburg in 1962 to 1966. We still have family down in Ripley County and the sale was in the country close to Holton. The printing on the Muti-tool case is : The Nature Company . It was made in Japan by Kanger. I only bid on it because it was different. They called it a Survival Tool . That would be a real stretch.

350 miles:eek: How did the add go ....sometimes you feel like a nut:thumbup::thumbup: A knife nut...that is;) Looking forward to seeing more of them:D

I recently sold off a bunch of my collection to help pay a mountain of bills. After most of the important bills were paid I was able to score a good deal on a Case/Bose Lanny's Clip. I've wanted a custom Lanny's Clip for quite some time. There's no way I can afford something like that right now with my health situation, so the Case/Bose was the natural choice. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the fit and finish. It's not without a couple minor issues, but nothing to get worked up about. I expected a lot smoother walk but perhaps I can flush the joint and re-oil. The shield sits very proud of the bone covers. Two other members I have talked to said theirs is the same. It is roughly 1/32" high and the edges are sharp (or maybe crisp is a better word). The covers are quite different between the mark and pile sides, but I kind of like the character. Especially of the pile side.

Bob : That is a good looking knife. I like that pattern and the Un-cleaned up saw cut is IMO a lot of personality. We all have some rough spots somewhere on us.

Bob, that is a beauty my friend! I have always admired these from a distance, never really ready to take the plunge so to speak. I think it has a lot of character and I hope it gives you many years of faithful service. Have a good day my friend. :)

Congrats on that superb, stunning, stag stockman, Vinifera; it's REALLY attractive!:thumbup::thumbup:

I apologize because I just now saw your post. The pull on the GEC Dixie Stockman for all blades is between 5 and 6. I really love the knife. Sorry again for missing your post.

Bob, I echo Ron's sentiments...many many years of faithful use my friend...hope today's a good day buddy:)

First GEC for me. It looks so nice, it's gonna be hard to start using it[emoji5]

Thanks, Will
I don't have much stag myself, but I sure do appreciate the chance to admire examples like this one, Will. Simply astounding!!:eek::thumbup:

Couldn't resist the price of $13.76 for a CV soddy from my local home improvement store...
Thanks for the heads-up, Al! Unfortunately, I stopped at my local franchise, and they weren't participating in this sale (didn't even have any sodbusters on display).

Better pic of my new Case Bros Coke Hunter...on bottom.

Congrats on the coke bottles, SAK Guy! Are you going for a six-pack, or an entire case of coke bottles??

I picked up a rusted out Queen Electrician's knife from the 80's for $10 at a pawn shop. It was so rusty it would barely open. I figured I would clean it up and make a couple bucks on fleabay. After cleaning, sanding, oiling, and buffing I developed an attachment. I think I'll carry it now as I really like it!

Fantastic rehab job, wesmanthetiger!!

Good evening everybody. Nice looking stuff here as always. I must have ADD. I can't stay focused. I really want a Gec 47 with some kind of micarta. I don't currently own a Gec. But every time I run across a decent "deal" I pick it up if I can. Got this Canoe made by Queen today for 15 bucks. I don't know anything at all about it, but for 15 bucks how can you go wrong? I don't own any Queen knives either. Until now. Guess I got the sickness.

Great find, GasMan1!! I've developed a real infatuation with canoes over the past 6-8 months, and that Queen looks like an AWESOME example!! (If you tire of it, I'd be happy to make you an offer! :D)

My new 23 is here. Lucked out with some nice stag!! Woo Hoo! :D

The reverse scale is pretty standard..... ;)

INCREDIBLE stag, SAK Guy! You're picking up a LOT of fantastic knives these days; congrats!:p:thumbup: The 23 is quite a bit bigger than the 73s and 83s that frequently show up lately, isn't it?

That would be this!
Congrats on getting your Opinel, Ferahgo; the stained handle looks terrific!

Picked these up at an Estate Auction last Saturday.

WOW! Marvelous finds, Harry! You must feel like you hit the jackpot!:D

That's a spectacular knife, Bob; congratulations!!:cool: I like that unusual pile side (when I saw you pic, my mind said, "Shredded Wheat!", don't ask me why :o)

Found this one yesterday at an antique shop. It's fun to find stuff like this even if it's not really rare or valuable. Bang for the buck ratio is very high! :)
Congrats, Mark!! May your ratio stay stratospheric! :D

Thanks GT!! :thumbup::thumbup:

The 73 is 3 3/4" and the 23 is 4 1/2" so 3/4 of an inch bigger.....haven't researched an 83.

About a year ago both my wife and I were out of work and faced with a pile of medical bills, so I had to sell off some knives. One I really regretted was my Queen #49 Cattle King large stockman in curly zebrawood. Well, I just replaced it with one that's even nicer than the one I sold. Beautiful, dark striped CZ and very sharp, too. Enjoy!

GT / 5KQ s : Yes I did feel like I hit the jackpot ! I really only was after the Case XX Barlow and the old fixed blade. Thought it might have been a Marbles. All of the others were sold too low to pass up.
