I received a number of knives today in a lot purchase. This is one of them...my first Boker and first pruner/hawkbill. I plan on getting it cleaned up over the next few days. It got a mineral oil bath and wipedown after coming home with it.

That is very cool, Stringplucker. I have been accumulating Bökers and Boker USA, but I've never seen a hawkbill pruner. Nice find!

This came with a wicked sharp edge. Coupled with the snappiness of the blade, it'll make your heart skip when it closes. It's a pretty cool knife. It was 17 knives in the lot, and the price was good. I could sell one of 4 different knives that were in the lot, and recover my expenses.

New dog. The Beagle is such a well thought out design. Glad I got micarta because I'm gonna use the snot out of this.

GT, the seller on our forum indicates this style was not sold in the USA.

RE the corkscrew Opinel, I am shocked that all French knives are not required by Royal Decree to have them.;)
:D:D
Thanks for the additional info on your French acquisitions, Tom.

My latest from a friend here on BF.

Old Wusthof Solingen peanut butter spreader slipjoint. :D
Very smooth walk and good talk. It has semi-sharp edge that could be sharpened but I am going to keep it as is. Will be used and tested this summer in the field. :D
What a unique and interesting knife! Congrats, A.L.!:cool:

Just arrived, a 66 Jack in stag.

That's a winner all the way, Alan! GEC #66 wasn't even "on my radar" until the recent thread featuring them in all their magnificent variety, and now I'm impressed with how commendable they all are!

This little beauty came in the mail yesterday from Mr. Graleys' giveaway. :)

Congrats on winning the GAW, and thanks for showing off your winnings, Tigre!

I thought I'd have 11 new arrivals to show off this weekend, but they remain in transit. Oh well, more anticipation to enjoy. :D

Thanks Gary. A 3 1/2" 2 blade jack knife is as traditional and practical as it gets.

I just picked up an interesting piece from Boker in a nice boxed set. Released in 1981, it's called The Collector, a 4 inch stockman. The neat thing to me was that it has old tang stamps on the two secondary blades.

This is my latest and probably my last for a little while. I think I need to implement a "one in, one out" policy to keep my wife happy!!
