Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Rick, very nice blade indeed. I really do like that shield. How does the single blade sit between the bolster liners?

Thanks, Tom! The blades sits perfectly. I was delighted to find that it's even centered when closed. The knife looks and functions like it was made that way at the factory. Even better in fact since it was flawed in its factory condition. Good ole Glenn fixed er right up!

That's a fine-looking knife. Glenn did a very nice job with it. This is what I'm envisioning the upcoming GEC single-blade 54 looking like....fingers crossed!

Thanks, Ratbert!

That's a beauty, Rick! Glenn does such amazing work!

Thanks, GT! I'm very pleased with it.

Congrats on the iconic French knives, Tom! I don't remember ever seeing a sheepsfoot Douk-Douk before (but I'm not always very focused anymore ); it's really cool! And the corkscrew Opinel is something you don't see every day either; superb!

GT, the seller on our forum indicates this style was not sold in the USA.

RE the corkscrew Opinel, I am shocked that all French knives are not required by Royal Decree to have them.;)

Sure.
As far as I know:
She purchased it from a small store called Cuchillería Simon in Madrid.
Albacete style which I guess is the Spanish traditional design. It says alloy vanadium steel On blade. Store guy told her the handle is "cuerno de ciervo" which translates to deer antler.
It's got an odd locking mechanism. Can't really explain it so I'll post pics.

That's all I know
I knew my sister was going to Spain and I just said bring me a traditional Spanish knife.

Thanks
Andy

That locking mechanism is called "Palanquilla reliá", similar to a lockback.
If I had more notches would be a "Carraca."
The steel will be 440 or similar.

Thanks. I like it! The pull on this one is about two less than my other one, and it's a clip, and it's autumn gold. What's not to like[emoji3]

Nothing not to like about it Alan . One of the classiest looking knives that GEC has done .

Thank you for the info.
I'm loving this knife.

Absolutely beautiful Alan. I feel the WJ's are hands down the nicest SFO's released. Classy, beefy build and amazing covers. I have only the ebony left in the spear but will always regret selling my polished Stag Clip:grumpy:

I LOVE THOSE COVERS!!! Great pick up Alan:thumbup:

This 2010 release Stag #56 dog leg jack arrived today, sharpened and right into my pocket.
