Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

A few vintage pieces picked up at the gun show...
From left or right, a 3 1/2" Electric Cut Co (not so) easy open, a 3 3/4" Wilbert Cutlery dogleg, a 4 1/4" Walkill River Works and a 4 1/8" ka-Bar.

I don't know much about any of them, just liked them...

Thanks for the compliments guys. I love hunting for the old ones. It's been tough lately. Seems like all the local antique and thrift markets have been picked thru, but I always have to go back and check, cuz you never know.

Two of these, the Electric and Wallkill, are real nail breakers, the Wallkill has a chip in the bone, the Wilbert has a little wobble. These are things that would bother me in new knives, however they are forgivable in vintage because of the undeniable character each one displays. They just seem to want to tell a story of where they've been, what they've done and what proud, hard working person owned them.

And then there's some like the Ka-bar, that is not really special in any obvious way that just seemed like a fun knife to want to restore. It is an unusually large, sort-of tear drop pattern with no halfstops. This one may end up being a project for one of our resident talents...

Primble, I was wondering who grabbed that 294. You must have called my wife. :D My excessive knife buying has been haulted. Great new addition! I look forward to seeing you posting it.

Oh my goodness!! Another beauty, Primble! Your collection is growing by leaps and treasures:D

Thank you Gevo - you have some wonderful old treasure yourself. ;):D

Latest addition, something of an early Christmas

Merry Christmas Curtis - it looks grand my friend.:D

Thank you Brett,

I noticed there were 10 watchers and decided to take it before it got gone. Sorry about your luck with your knife buying. You really were getting out of control there mate. ;):D

I would bet that you even have soup ordered.:o

I would not really call your wife and tell. (hands behind my back :p)

And something a little on the other side of the traditional spectrum...

Robeson Mastercraft, by Queen. Probably not the most popular or sought after, but I like the look of these and they feel pretty well put together. I just wish they would've went with 1095 on these...
