Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I have had good luck sharpening hawkbill blades or others with a serious inward curve using a Sharpmaker. Also, Lansky still makes a "crock stick" sharpener. Those are round ceramic rods which set into a block to form a V. I've used that with good results, also.

Thanks very much knarfeng! I actually have the Lansky, but have not been using it in favor of flat stones. Thanks again, I'll try the Lansky rods.

Very nice indeed. Is that Dusk Bone?

I'm very keen on all my 38s the Tidioute Camel Bone is simple and beautiful, your new knife likewise. These are really practical knives not just for gardeners like me, that Pruner will open any packaging or clamshell horror with no problem, great for boxes and wire too. The minor blade is a scalpel, wonderful thin slices of garlic with that:cool:
Yep. Dusk bone. I have a #61 that is listed as Midnight Bone but they look the same to me? The blade shape is great for digging in to cardboard, plastic etc..

The 53 Cuban Stockman with Elk covers has been a grail knife for me for several years. GEC only made 29 of the 538308's and I kept missing out on those rare occasions when one was posted in The Exchange. I finally acquired one and I could not be happier!

I lubed the joints this afternoon. Just need to touch up the blades and in the pocket it goes along with the Peanut in my avatar.

Great Bone on that knife Alan. I'd like to get one of those with Spear, seem elusive though.

Thanks, Will

Bob: Could not agree with you more. I know there was a lot of critique on this pattern with this blade. I personally like it a lot. I have two on reserve at CK. It just seems to work somehow? Your photo is wonderful. Thanks.

Not sure if I posted these here, both gifts from forum friends and both have been with me ever since.

Wow! Ted. Great looking knives. That is a beautiful couple of gifts especially.:thumbsup:

Thanks Alan. I read a lot of negativity about this release. I don't usually fall in line with popular opinion unless I give something a fair shake on my own. My immediate reaction is, I'm glad I didn't go by the nay sayers. I like it so far, but it just arrived today so we'll see. I don't see any reason that I would not like it's performance. It's not a delicate knife by any means.

Very nice, Bob. I too was on the fence with this pattern and have at least one coming.

Your Bocote has a real psychedelic pattern to it, wonder how it looks under a black light?:D
