Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

View attachment 716663 I found this at a local flea market on Saturday for $3. I also picked up a fairly nice Kutmaster Barlow for $8, but I'm curious about this one. It's marked S.C. Co., Walden on the tang. The only thing to come up on a quick Google search says it's a mark used by Schrade between 1904 & 1946. It has half stops, great snap & no blade wobble, although it looks like somebody recently used a bench grinder pretty aggressively in an attempt to sharpen it.

Any of the experts here have any more info?

Just arrived today! The bocote is incredible.

The pile side has a good sized chunk missing from the butt end that exposes part of the first rivet. It's still plenty good enough to carry, but I think I'll just clean it up a bit, sharpen it & maybe carry it occasionally.

My newest addition:traditional ?

Why . . . my Cold Steel serrated slippy of course.
easy EASY
MOD: I’m kidding.
For a change I haven’t given you a good reason to delete my post.

That’s a reflection of light through our vertical blinds on the edge bevel.

Looks like this

MAN !

There are some cool knives over here. I was looking through the last several pages of posts.

Slip joints are where it’s at.

Love me one of those roughneck (sunfish etc.) knives. Not sure I could pull off carrying that handle that looks like it is made of something from Andromeda (but I would like to try).

Bocote, stag . . . some great stuff here.

Vince, do you know The origin of the Pacheco name? Is it related to a traditional knife or ?
LastRodeo & All. Rick told me,he made the first one,for a good friend of his who is the head hunting guide on a huge ranch in New Mexico called the Pacheco Ranch. His friend likes drop points and Rick says the fella may just be the best mule deer hunter in the World.

Here's Rick with a big mule deer.

And another with his friend Drummond Lindsey

Now Rick told me about a watering hole he knows about ,east of this ranch ,and there's a rock there that cowboys carved their names in from a ways back. They'd stop at this spot to water cattle on drives. Rick said it was all Indian country then

So check out the name he & another buddy saw on this rock ,and the date

It's a cool story & Rick says the knife is very special one to him. I like mine with the NYK Co shield

Well I can't post pics, tried Dropbox to no avail but I just got my Enigma Knives slipjoint. no.5 yellow-gray on their website right now if you want to see it.

I was interested in the Lionsteel Roundhead but no go to Canada so I started looking for another builder using high end materials in a slipjoint. Titanium liners, phosphor bronze washers, mosaic pivot, us2000 steel blade hrc62, stabilized maple burl covers on this one. The knife comes with a felt pocket slip, and a personalized card all in a nice wooden box. Shipping from Poland was faster than the last few I ordered from popular dealers in the U.S.

From what I could find us2000 is also zwear which is essentially the same as Cruwear. So if this is the case I'm extremely happy with that. I've only had it a day now so I can't comment on edge retention or sharpening etc. It did however arrive pretty dull but with a very even grind. A few passes on the Spyderco double stuff and she's sharp enough to put to work although still not shave sharp.

There is some daylight between the liners and backspring but I could tell that from the pics so I'm fine with it and it was no surprise. The liners are a touch proud of the backspring in the closed position, the spring was a touch proud of liners open out of the box but is now flush. The fit between the liners and covers is perfect. Blade grinds, perfectly even. Blade ever so slightly favours the show side although both sides really could be the show side they're so nice. Overall I'd say f&f slightly better than my beautiful example of the last CSC forum knife. The wood is nicer than any I've got, (mostly gec). The action was a bit chalky but with a bit of oil and some use is smoothing out. I thought it would be smoother considering the washers but chalkiness seems to be the tang against the spring. The pull starts of at a strong 6 ending at a 7, no half stop. Nice and solid in use, I have a large thumb that typically rests on the blade when I cut things, many knives start closing too easily for me. This one does not.

Yesterday morning I get emails and PMs and text messages from everyone, "Ted check your email, check your messages, you won the the Blade show GAW that @Steven65 held for a JD Ellis Lanny's Clip with Sandvik 12C27 Stainless beautifully ground and swedged clip blade with blue G10 frame red linen micarta liners, looks like black linen micarta bolsters and natural canvas micarta scales. To date the best GAW I've ever won in 20 years.

Thanks to the South African knife community for JD Ellis and his mad skills as a knife maker and thanks to the generosity of Steven for hosting the Blade Show GAW.

Better pics on the way but here's a little better shot that shows the colors better.
