Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I have two of Todd's creations, both catches on the exchange. Can't say enough about them. A. Shearer's blue TAD us a bit of a Grail for me.
I must of missed that one of Alan's I'm kind of in and out of the loop most of the time lol .

Schatt Morgan folding hunter with sweet buffalo horn covers and a huge D2 blade. Ordered a hand made buffalo hide pocket slip to match it. Gonna put this big girl to work. 15061460986811908012482.jpg

Yeah, that can happen. From time to time I'll have to use some steel wool and oil to clean a blade. The backsprings are stainless on the newer Case cv knives, so at least you don't have to worry about that.
5K Qs 5K Qs , Gary, I would just go ahead and do a forced patina to blend it in. Clean and dry the blades with some rubbing alcohol. Heat up some white or apple cider vinegar in the microwave for one minute and then stand the open knife in the vinegar tips down for about a minute or so, or until the blades get evenly dark. Don't worry if they look black. After removing from the vinegar, rinse with water to neutralize. then wipe the blades with some WD-40 on a rag or very fine Scotch-Brite (gray, not the green pads) until you achieve the desired light gray patina. oil the joints and you're done.
5K Qs 5K Qs ^^^^ What Bob said! :D Yeller Delrin and CV Patina go very well together!
Thanks for the advice and recommendations, r8shell & Bob & Ron.:thumbsup: I'll have to try that hot vinegar forcing method. I usually "gently force" a patina by cutting fruit, vegetables, and meat and by dipping the blade into the juice of hot pepper rings, but a uniform gray patina really appeals to me.

GT... what are your initial thoughts on the pen vs the mini copperhead? I have (and like) the pen, but was looking around at some similar knives online, the mini w/ wharncliffe being one of them.
Matt, I like both knives very much, although I've used the pen knife a lot more than the mini copperhead so far. The pen knife is a little bigger (3 1/4" compared to 3 1/8") and is CV rather than TruSharp; I consider both of those as advantages of the pen knife. I'm also not very experienced with using a wharncliffe blade, so I'm a little worried that I'll do something I shouldn't and break that pointy tip! Although the yellow delrin is classic, I think the navy blue bone covers and red shield of the mini copperhead are much better looking. I like both knives better than a peanut, both because of their larger size and because of the blades on opposite ends, which I've come to favor over a jack set-up. Basically, both the pen and the mini copperhead are knives I'm very happy with so far - no regrets about either purchase.

It looks like a nice one Ed. I like his clips. Here's one with a clip, I bought when he posted it. The black/blue/steel striper, I ordered the way it is. Asked for a wharncliffe blade on that one.
