Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Exceptional photos of of a very nice Hawkbill . That old Schrade looks like it was seldom used .

Thanks Harry... I've got a couple of hawkbills that are great for breaking down cardboard boxes but I might need to use this one for spreading Cheez Whiz on some Ritz crackers LoL.

Just as I had hoped, I was able to go back to my local shop and trade for three more pearl whittlers. I've already shown you the first Cattaraugus on the left, I just had to take a group photo so that it didn't feel left out.

- Cattaraugus
- Schrade Cut. Co.
- Passaic Knife Co.

Oh, and does anyone else have a Cattaraugus pearl whittler with the wharncliffe blade like the one in my picture? More of a Congress pattern whittler. I tried searching for pics or info about it, but no luck. No numbers on it anywhere, just the Cattaraugus tang stamps. Any help appreciated.

Just went through my Cattaraugus Catalogue and did not find anyCangress Whittler with a Wharncliffe blade .
Edit Added :There is a # 32443 Congress Whittler with Pearl Covers on Page 81 that shows what I would call a Sheepfoot main blade . Is it possible that your Warncliffe blade has been re-shaped from the Sheepfoot ??? It appears to me that your blade does not have a Nail Nick , but I can not zoom in to see as close as I would like . You have a Stunning Knife there Sir !!! I would be very proud to find one like it someday to go with my few Old Catts .
I would hope that you would find the Old Catt thread and post your's in it . They certainly will add to it .
Carry them in good health N navaja !!!

Thanks Harry, I'm very happy to have found them. They're all in mint or near mint condition as well. It doesn't seem to have been modified, but if so it was extremely well done and professional for sure. It has a long, thin pull that's right next to the spine. You have to watch your thumbnail on this one as its not the deepest pull and springs are stout, but I haven't sworn at it yet, so that's a good sign. I'll take some better pictures and post them up in the Cattaraugus section as well.

Very nice, I'm digging it as well. I think I'll have to own one of those. Is the retention strong in the open position? I'm a fan when I can put some decent pressure on the spine with my thumb and have a somewhat hard time moving it if you know what I mean.

pull is a verrry open discussion as your experience and my experiences with knives may differ, so ymmv
