Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Finished up going through stuff from Dad. I’m pretty sure this Imperial was given to my older brother but he never took up hunting so it stayed at Dad’s House all these years. My Schrade Walden is virtually identical and I know Dad gave them to us at the same time but we had to leave them in his dresser drawer until we were older. Don’t think my brother ever took it out.

Very nice. The Scout is a little bit too large for me but I'll probably get a Junior Scout before too long. Seems like a good size and I really like the design. Nice score!

Oh, I found a tiny flaw. When closed the tip is slightly raised so it could be a problem. I might have to file the kick ever so little, a fraction of a millimeter.

I'm sorry to hear that but yes, should be an easy fix.

Ok... Careful with the boiling water. Not sure I'd advise that. Could crack the bone covers.
WD-40 is a good cleaning agent, but Not as a lasting lubricant. I'd wash it again with Dawn and hot water then hair dryer then oil it with a lightweight oil like 3-in-1 or gun oil. I actually use Slick50, applying it with a large diameter needle syringe.
Gave it another go with gun oil. Seems to be a little easier than when I first got it. Hopefully it'll break in with time.

Had to show these off. I recently won a raffle that included all of these knives: a Lloyd Moonshiner, a Northfield #73 LL, an old Case XX Texas Jack, a Birdvis Modified Camillus TL-29 that came with a custom Holladay Leather Works slip, a Farm and Field Bull Buster, a Slipjoint Paradigm edition SAK Tinker, a Walnut SAK Spartan (that's factory walnut, believe it or not), a Tidioute Pemberton, a Russell Green River Works filet knife.

What isn't shown yet is a 3 3/4" Barlow made to my spec by Jefferey Mitchell in another Holladay Leather Works slip that were also part of the winnings.

Wowee...

A collection all at once Andrew.

What a spectacular WIN!!! Unbelievable. Congratulations.

A friend of mine made this and donated it to a charity silent auction, and I had the winning bid this past Saturday. He told me the story about how the Herder factory was bombed during WW2, but the warehouse was untouched. The remaining stock of pre-war finished and unfinished knives was purchased in 1990, and my friend told me that he subsequently bought "a couple thousand dollars worth" of blade blanks from that stock. He told me that he used mahogany for the handle. He also made a rather fancy sheath for it. I'm thinking of having something much simpler made that would allow for pocket carry (at least in cargo pants), or maybe belt carry. The overall length is just under seven inches.

I had initially skipped the drop for the big bay and then didn’t even try when some went up during the Madison barlow drop recently. I had tried two or three of the 78 spear points though and really liked the action but not the spear point. When this one hit the exchange at the same time I posted a couple of mine for sale I couldn’t help giving it a try. I think it will be a keeper: perfect size, rugged clip point, great fit and finish, excellent action, and I really like the inbetweener bolster size on this knife.

The arrowhead stamp is really cool, too ;) Says a Sagittarius. It takes a lot for a NW to turn me on, but those Big Bays are easy fer' it! Nice one you got there.

Thanks, Andrew. I'm digging it. That Lloyd you snagged sure is a beauty. It must be hard to find a place in the rotation for all those nice knives! Any plans to tinker with any of them?

Already done a little. Cut a big ole sharpening notch in the Lloyd, which I might touch up by hand with some paper, or just give it another graze around the 1x30. Tightened up the pivot on that Case Jack, as the main was loose. Peened the pin and sanded but left it a little unflush before I shined up the bolster, since it's kinda old and I like that they did that with the last run of Ancients. Thought about clipping the blade on that Bull Buster, too, but not sure. I have a Lambsfoot mod to do for one of our forum fellows, so we'll see how I feel after I do that one. Bunch'a stuff to do lately on the professional and community fronts, so I'm taking the rest where I can get it.
