Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

That RH4 looks fantastic for a mere $16.00, what a deal. I've been watching those on the big auction site for a few weeks now hoping to find a similar deal. You did well I'd say.
Thank you. I thought it was a good deal, though I haven't checked comparables. It's nice to deal with someone less greedy and grasping than myself.

My third Case 06247 arrived today... the appaloosa bone doesn't match quite as well as I thought, but it's still a handsome knife. It's basically new, no sharpening, very light blade rub.
I have noticed on all three of these that the spring is proud when the blades are open. This one appears to be a 1979...

Three in a very short time... you must be smitten.
I can see why, it's a very cool pattern and a handy looking blade combo.

Yes... I really like that pattern. I may be at a stopping point on them, unless a flawless one shows up. Personally, I don't think the fit and finish on these was Case's best effort. My more recently made swayback jacks have been GEC quality... these are not that. They are very nice knives, but they are nowhere near the consistent quality GEC produces. I do not know the history of Case, but these may have been made during a quality lull for them... sort of like an AMF Harley Davidson...

My 82 possum skinner, which is the same concept (a blade at opposite ends of a single spring) is borderline flawless.

I have no clue what happened in the above post.... I was trying to simply reply to JohnDF, but it somehow captured part of my original posting.... odd.

3rd times a charm for this one? We shall see. I had one of these once and sold it. Missed it and had an idea for Javi Garcia to recover one for me. Wasn't quite happy with the result. So back to good ol stock ebony. This one has fantastic f&f!
