Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I just got this small brass Mercator in and it's definitely an interesting knife for sure.

Its not perfect but it has rustic working knife kind of charm that's quite pleasing.
It's very thin and fairy lightweight, but it fits the hand well.

Now I dont know what they were thinking, but these have absolutely zero kick.

And the tip contacts the spacer, so a bit of 10oz leather was necessary.

Now its just right , the tip is close to being proud but just barely not. That's how it has to be for the edge to wear into the leather over time without the tip contacting the spacer.

Mailman dropped this one off today. Case/Bose Millennium Trapper from 2000. She's pretty!

I've been on a bit of a Boker Solingen kick lately. They may have some quality control issues here and there, but when you get a winner, Boker can really knock it out of the park!

Trapper Classic Gold in Desert Ironwood and 440C. :)

Look at that Ironwood!

Individually numbered which I wasn't expecting but is always appreciated.

The picture in the catalogue is "ACTUAL SIZE"! I've been wanting this one for a couple of years now, and finally ordered one.

Nice colouring on the pile side too:

I'm very happy with the fit and finish, and I LOVE that etch (I usually don't care for blade etches, but this one's so cool!)
I won't use this on food (got better pocketknives for that, e.g., a Laguiole); I want to keep the blade clean for awhile.

I generally prefer something a little larger, like a trapper, but this feels very good in the hand and in the pocket. It's a good compromise. And I love the way the blade shapes complement each other. Now I know why @5K Qs is so fond of canoes!

A true classic. :cool::thumbsup:
I should have picked a better username!
Nah... I like it. :D

As special as Charlie's Black Jack is, I think you'll find even more usefulness with the standard offering because of the coping secondary.

Very nice Vince. It's especially satisfying when you can get a knife you've been looking for for some time.

Second day in a row the mailman brought me a first version Camillus 301 but this one goes back with a note about telling the deference between NIB and used, polished then placed in the wrong box...View attachment 1326974

That’s no good. :(

I feel for ya... I just bought a “new” TRM Neutron and the clip was installed on the wrong side, it was sent without a box, and the blade has a roll. Oh well, lol.

I’ve gotta get my hands on one of those old 301 though! Reminds me of my childhood. :)
