your no1 knife

I can't narrow it down to one knife to save my soul but the honorable mention in this thread has to be the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. Regardless of it's price, it's is everything I need in an EDC folder. This is one knife that gives you more than you paid for IMHO. I've carried one everyday for a few months while carrying another knife perhaps 2-4 times in that same period.

Benchmade 940, hands down my favorite. I'm well over 550 knives, the 940 is ALWAYS in my right front pocket, while any one of 50 carbon bladed traditional folders rides in the left. The Benchmade has an exceptional lockup, sharp edge , and practcally disappears in the pocket. It deploys and returns to the pocket in an instant and is one damn fine looking piece of cutlery.

Emerson CQC-8 Satin. My wide and kids bought it for me this last Christmas. It would be the last I would ever sell. Plus it just looks so dang bad ass.

Mine for the longest time has been the Emerson Commander. It's been to hell and back and it still sharpens up and keeps on taking a beating. I love the blade design, the handle ergonomics - it's like it hugs your hand right back, and the edge holding abilities.

I have used mine for light chopping, batoning, fishing, bar-b-q at the beach and home, basic camp chores, and an almost self defense situation a few years ago (when the wave was still on it - stupid me cut it off). In all honesty this knife made me trust liner locks again, make that well made liner locks again :o

I liked it so much that I recently got the Auto version - Kershaw Auto Emerson Commander. I plan on that being my duty knife very shortly here when I graduate from the Police Academy in May. It's one knife that my instructors say, "that's a knife!"

Victorinox OHT or New Soldier because it saved me many time from walking all the way back to the maintenance closet.

I never saw the Emerson Commander as that big/beefy of a folder until I went to their site and watched the deployment video. "That's a knife"

The ONE that I always take to the bush, no matter what, is my Becker BK-2 (although that may change when Becker brings out the new tweeners — we'll see).

The ONE that is always with me day to day, no matter what, is my Vic Farmer.

EDC - Vic Spartan because it's the first SAK i've bought and i still carry it

Fixed blade - Mora Clipper because of the scandi grind and the fact that it;s good quality for the amount of money spent

Seeing as I don't have too many knives my favorites may change with future aquisitions:)

I own alot of folders and have carried from $5.00 china made to expencive customs but keep comeing back to gerbers mini covert its never let me down and does the job of a knife twice its size.

Ive been thinin" the herd. Buying quality knives. Id have to say my CRK

Zaan...it will do just about anything I want it to.

I do not have a #1 knife. I have a bunch of knives that I rotate when the feeling hits. Right now it is the brand new Cold Steel Black Rhino I got for $64.99 because they are discontinuing this and several other models. It'll remain the EDC for several weeks, then I'll switch again.:)

My Buck Mayo Waimea.
Great little EDC knife made from titanium with a S30V blade by BOS, doesn't get better then that.
