Some people call him a "tacti-cool Mall ninja" and say he has no idea what he is talking about... I like him. His reviews may be long, but as he said, if you don't like them, go elsewhere. I think the longer reviews are easier to gather information from.

His videos have influenced me well on purchases I have made, and he hasn't let me down yet. I also enjoy watching his Run 'n' Gun videos, even though they are "mall ninja" like. He has fun doing, I have fun watching.

What 'bout you?

Getting the popcorn for this one.. But instead of being inamoured by him why dont ya just form your own opinions besides listening to what someone thinks about something.

I think there is some good information in there if you can deal with the long-winded reviews. But I have a strong aversion to arrogance and self-righteousness. He's making money from those videos and, even though it's not coming directly out of my pocket, I won't contribute to that. So I have gone elsewhere.

I would love to watch someone who was a little more humble doing those things.

He focuses on the weight too much and goes for more mainstream models, but his reviews have lots of good information too.

Well, there's no denying that he is rather opinionated, but aren't we all? There are some things we do and don't like, and Nutnfancy always says "Your mileage may differ" or "this is only an opinion" and "I'm not the end-all expert, and I'm not claiming to be".

No, i'm not nutnfancy, nor I am some kind of die-hard fanboy. I happen to agree with lots of the things he says, and believe it or not, I DO form my own opinions. From holding the gear, to shooting a gun, using a knife, and hearing others' opinions who have USED IT, like nutnfancy shows himself doing. He shows him using it, and it working - or not working.

He may generate money from it, but that's not his point of his videos. They are to inform, and share the facts and his opinions, like always.

Some say he's an asshole, and I'd like to see how. He seems like a fun guy -- but a review is a review, why should the haters have to attack his personal life?

He has proved he is in the USAF. He's not lying about it.

I think the main difference between the haters and the fans, is opinion. Some people don't like what he say, so they decide to hate him for it. Oh well, that's the internet for ya.

I don't think he is harming anyone.

If you don't like, just don't watch his videos.

I like his voice, and good quality videos. Where I live in Europa there aren't much knifestores where I can see blades, so internet reviews help me a lot.

I do watch some of his fieldreviews. They can be helpfull for me.

His 10 minutes indoor review are a little boring, and sometimes over the top. Like his philosophy of use et cetera.

Well anyway, he might be a little bit arrogant, but like I said he isn't harming anyone.

You asked so... The following is MY own opinion so don't get butt-hurt over it.

I really used to like his knife reviews however, recently, I think he has gone off the ego deep end. Between all the runnin and gunnin, PFI dude and Buttnugget or whatever I just can't stomach it anymore. It seems like he is surrounded by a lot of butt kissers that inflate his ego. I know he's supposed to be a Lt Col in the USAF but I think we are bordering on the edge of mallninja town with some of the vids. I think the one the put me off the most was the tactical scooter video with the fanny pack. He looked like an escaped mental patient.

As far as his SHOT show reviews, I liked looking at the new stuff but I think he kind of comes across as an asshat sometimes and the looks on the vendors faces at times was just embarrassing.

For my time, there are better reviewers out there now with less "production" and "dudery" And for my money, I can find most of the info I need right here on Bladeforums.

This question seems to pop up every couple of months, a search will provide you with pages of reading. Basically lots of people like him, lots of people don’t and a lot of people don’t care one way or the other.

This isn't bad advice, except that if people had any confidence in their own opinion ,this forum probably wouldn"t exist.
I'm always astonished by the posts that go something like this; "I've got $200 [or whatever amount] and I'm wondering what knife I should buy. Please let me know."
Personally I never buy a knife if I don't get a buzz looking at it no matter how 'good' it supposedly is. For example my local knife store has a Zero Tolerance fixed blade with kydex sheath [ might be the 150 but I'm not sure right now] for $120 which seems like a good price. The store also just brought in the whole CKRT line and I've always wanted the black blade Hissatsu which they're selling for about $75.00. Both are affordable for me, so cost is not really an issue.
On any objective scale the ZT is the better knife, but my heart yearns for the Hissatsu so I'd be a fool to buy the ZT. [ although I like that one as well and I may get it some time in the future ]

I indeed noticed the pop up adverts on his channel, but I don't see the problem with that?

I've been thinking to open my channel for advertisements, with the vague hope that this could partly sponsor new purchases, but in the end I didn't, mainly because I expect that at around 1200 visitors per day, it will probably not be worth it.

Well, as Nutnfancy says himself, his reviews are one data point to consider. He himself doesn't advocate taking what he says as infallible.

Personally, I like to see video reviews of various types of products, and Nutnfancy has similar sensibilities to my own in some areas. Also, his reviews are entertaining, mostly.

I learn things from his videos but he has gotten too long winded. Most of us don't have access to the number of products (he gets on loan from friends and dealers) that he has and I find his stuff helpful.

I also watch with jealously of all the fun shooting him and his buddies do.
