That's really the only reason I keep an eye on resale value......'cause eventually........it WILL be sold.
Yes, I quite agree with you. But this refers to collector's knives, mint condition. I'm gonna use this knife... I don't think that a "Custom" stamp would add much value to a used knife:) This is my first Buck, maybe, I'll order some more CS110, and now I know, that I have to worry much, if I order BG-42:)

I have good neighbors, so I don't worry about my being home at the delivery moment:)

That's the big help right there! Our neighborhood is OK most of the time, but in summer when the kids are out of school and on the loose, I worry about daytime delivery, with that package sitting in plain view and dozens of curious eyes roaming by.

They just knocked on my door, as I don't have a bell:) I'm constantly receiving UPS packages and I like UPS, I can always track my packages:))) I have good neighbors, so I don't worry about my being home at the delivery moment:)

:cool:You are very fortunate...As nice as my neighbors are, at an average age of 114...... they can't do much to help make sure my deliveries get to me...LOL...:p

If I bought a knife from the Custom Shoppe and it did not have "Custom" stamped on it, I'd unbuy it damned quick.

Custom should say Custom......and that's all I have to say about that. Otherwise......how do we know the Custom Shoppe made the knife and not some fly-by-night aftermarket guy who got hold of a Buck blade?

Seems to me you have nothing on the knife to tie it to the Custom Shoppe.

Don't that blade look familiar to anyone ? For Alaskan Guide 110 owners, imagine polishing the black coating off...............

Actually, no. I was not referring to mint condition.

Collector knives come in all conditions.....I'm sure you've seen some well used 110s selling on e-Bay.....and being purchased by collectors who avidly seek them and pay a lot of money for them.

I have a few that show a lot of use myself......if they were stamped "Buck Custom" it would just make them more valuable.

And almost all knives get sold eventually.

Lol Yeah, there is a "Custom 110" mafia, they buy 110AGs, then put the blades out of the handles, clean and polish them, then make other knives with NS bolsters, using Buck's site and banking accounts:)))))) Just kidding, you know:)
Actually, if I bought this knife as a collector of custom 110s, I'd be really upset about the lack of "Custom Shop" stamp on the tang, I think Buck CS should do anything with this issue...

Ok, I see you point, and I almost agree with you... But my mint knives (kept on shelves) cost me much more than this one, and I believe, selling them would bring much more money... I guess this story makes my knife even "unique" - a 110 with such a handle (NS+buffalo+rivets) and a S30V + personal Bos stamp with no CS stamp:))) How many custom 110 are there? And how many knives like mine?;) It's kinda post stamp with inverted colors or a coin with some mistakes:))))))))))))))))))))

Glad you almost agree with me.

;)

Have fun with your Alaskan Guide blade.......it's my favorite knife, as you can see by my avatar.

All I am saying is, they are using the same blades as the Alaskan Guides, hence the lack of 'Custom Shop' markings................

Lol Yeah, there is a "Custom 110" mafia...

Yes, there is, but they may not be organized like the M**** is... ;) (If the M**** even exists)...

You can see their knives on eBay, TKA, BB, etc...Outlandish colors and inlays, etches, cartoons (must certainly be copyright infringements there)...

I'm not talking about the various "company" knives, the DuPont, Carborundum, Western Electric, etc knives; but the Pirate knives, Power Puff knives, BatMan knives...ugh...All 110's, at least from what I've seen... :barf:

Buck must do a considerable business in plain-Jane 110's that they sell to small resellers...who re-scale them and sell them to...???...(not me!)... :D

I just received my order shipped notification. Unfortunately, I'm leaving for vacation for a week...

My order shipped email came in this morning at 1:50 AM. I guess those computers are working overtime. I emailed Pete a little while ago to remind him about the discount and he emailed me back almost immediately. It wasn't even 6:00 AM out there! People can say what they want about the custom shop but I know the people that work there are doing everything they can to help us including responding to emails at 6:00 in the morning:eek: Now to start thinking about the next order:)

:thumbup:I'd be hard pressed to identify another company that has the service attitude Buck has.

I have a question!

When I ordered my custom shop cherrywood 110 (on May 31st), I could pick my shipping choice as well? Right?
I have USPS priority mail in my order confirmation. They deliver within 3 days.
Pete just emailed me a UPS ground tracking number. 5-7 days for delivery and the UPS guy will throw it on the porch...

This isn't a big deal, and Dave this isnt a complaint so dont blow up  (that would never happen) :D

O.K. Here's the official question;

Why give the shipping option?

I received my "order shipped" notification. I ordered on June 4, and with UPS 2nd-day delivery, I'll be getting my cherrywood 110 on June 30.

They still haven't given me my 15 percent discount.....Pete said it would take a couple of days and it's been a couple of days.

Hope they can get that done soon......otherwise, all is well.
