Your own physical reaction to having had the vaccine shots

Had one of Pfizer two weeks ago, almost painless process. Sore arm for 24hrs, had the shot at 0730hrs and was in bed asleep by around 1900hrs, had the best night's sleep I have had in months. Had a bout of the chills the following afternoon (people laughed at me as I was wearing one of my issued alpine jackets in my office) and that has been it. 2nd is set to be delivered around the 16th of this month. When I tried sticking the TV antenna cable in my ear, the reception was honestly no better. I was quite disappointed.
.....had my second dose on 16/8. Sore arm and possibly a headache (I say possibly as at the best of times the majority of the human race annoy me and the resulting tension in my neck shoulder from subduing the urge to strange some of them tends to give me regular headaches - so I can't say if it was the shot or just "me"). Nothing else since. Mrs Andy had her's on the same schedule as me, no issue with No1 but aches and pains with No2 (I know technically not me :D but she was laying next t me complaining about it... ;) ).

I had a lot of very localized pain at the injection site, with my first dose of the Pfizer- back in March. I also felt a little tired as well but I was back to normal in 24hrs. In reality, it was no big deal - not in my individual case. The 2nd shot, I just felt like I had a very mild flu or a bad seasonal allergy that lasted about 36 hours. Again, no big deal. I’m diabetic, which puts me in a higher risk category. So, that got me into researching all I could about the efficacy of the various vaccines; particularly as they relate to this damn Delta (Indian) variant. After reading a BUNCH of studies (mostly from abroad) and listening to some very respected doctors in the US and abroad, I realized that a booster shot of the Moderna vaccine (regardless of which vaccine you you got for shots #1 and #2) raises your antibody count by as much as 10-fold. That’s pretty substantial when you have a pre-existing condition like I do! Well, since they don’t ask you whether you’ve had any other vaccines when you go to the pharmacy counter at Walmart (at least not where I live) I asked if I could get the Moderna vaccine. They were like, “sure, step right up! We’ve got more than we need and have even had to throw some out because not enough people are coming in to get it” That’s all the convincing I needed! So, I just got a poke with a dose of the Moderna - an unofficial booster! I had ZERO reaction to the Moderna vaccine.

My wife is basically an anti-vaxxer and I support her right to make her own decision, despite the fact that I WISH she’d get vaccinated. For me, though, I couldn’t be more grateful for the vaccine and the booster I just got - we’ve got 3 kids and I’m the 99.5% breadwinner. Going into my busiest part of the year, where I deal with a lot of clients from all over, I feel a lot more secure that I’ll be around to support my family and get to watch all my kids grow up. I’m sure grateful for EVERYONE that brought these vaccines into existence!
God Bless! Rant over now. Lol. Carry on.

Just had my first Pfizer today at noon. So far, nothin.

After 24 hrs : slight soreness around the injection site. Otherwise, nuthin.
Had my second shot on the 16th. Sore arm and tired the next day. Slept a lot.
Two days out, arm soreness still there but fading. Slight headache this morning but not as tired as yesterday.
For some reason I’m craving chocolate ice cream.

2nd Pfizer two days ago, got me good, flu like symptoms and finally believe it is passing. Sore arm on both shots.

This might get moved. My fam got sick after dad got double vax. The one laziest one got sickest and I got it kind of bad because of my heart and blood sugar issues. But delta still wasn't as bad as the co-19 I got

1st Moderna shot I had no side effects.

2nd Moderna shot on the 22nd around 3PM. Went to bed around midnight with no symptoms. Woke up around 4AM with a 101F fever, my joints all hurt and had a headache. Had the chills so I dug out my winter PJ's and a blanket and went back to bed. Pretty much stayed in bed the next day watching movies and drank a lot of water. The fever was gone by about 3PM. By 6PM I felt well enough to go out for a giant cheeseburger!
All in all, no big deal.

I was reading somewhere that the Moderna shot has a larger payload which may explain why I did not feel any side effects from the lower dosed Pfizer shots.

Had my Pfizer-BioNTech booster shot at 6:30 PM yesterday, exactly 6 months after my second vaccination shot. No side effects except for mild soreness at the injection site, and only when I touch it. I had my flu shot (quadrivalent double dose) one inch above the Covid booster and I cannot tell which injection site is sore. I tensed up for the flu shot and completely relaxed my shoulder for the Pfizer-BioNTech booster which followed, per CDC instructions which I cannot find again today. Their web site has much useful information poorly organized. FYI, properly administered flu vaccination is completely painless like a water injection; Pfizer-BioNTech hurts going in, but no worse than the sort of splinter I remove with SAK tweezers.

You may ask how I learned to recognize water injections. I was never a junkie and I have not shot up with toilet water. I was a child asthmatic in the 1950s, and I was desensitized by repeated injections of my environmental allergens. I was also given distilled water injections as a control, to see whether I was reacting to the mild trauma of being injected. My doctors did not realize that after hundreds of injections, even young children learn to recognize what they are being injected with. I should have told them but I didn't. At that age I thought there was a world-wide war between children and adults, and I did not wish to collaborate with the enemy.

If you schedule a vaccination appointment online at Walgreens, you will be given an opportunity to complete your vaccination paperwork online. After you complete these forms, "sign" them electronically by typing your name in a signature box, and "save" the result, you will be told that your paperwork is completed but you still need to bring your insurance card(s), even if you uploaded their images. Like most things you hear from Walgreens, this is BS. If you do not print a copy of what you completed online and bring it with you, it never happened and you will do it again at the drugstore with pen and paper. Bring your own pen. You will be offered a jar full of filthy Walgreens advertising pens which are never washed and never replaced until they run dry.

Edit 9/28: I looked at my left shoulder in a mirror this morning and gave it two good pokes. The flu shot is still sore, and that's the one I tensed up for. For any kind of intramuscular injection, do yourself a favor and relax.

Moderna, both shots, no reaction. Its been a year now, I have been around crowds frequently, and many people from overseas, also I have several comorbidities and was an early vaccinated person. No problems. Will I get the booster ?, probably. The advgantages of this vaccine is that it does wear off, in other words it is not a long term change to you physically and certainly not your genetics as many once feared. I knew some older people whom got very sick and where not vaxed, I am more likley to get ill from something else in general, I like cigars, where si my tobacco vaccine so I can smoke and enjoy them more?. I can see no reason not to get the shot or the booster. Hell, when I traveled overseas, I received vaccines for all kinds of things that I probably did not need. The only thing I am against is people being forced to vaccinate, freedom is too important. My greatest health risk, I play with knives !

This thread is not for discussing the pros or cons of getting vaccinated. It is purely to answer the question in the title.
There are several threads in other sections of the forums for discussing pros and cons of vaccination.

Moderna
both shots recieved in early afternoon
for both shots - between 9 and 10 AM the next day I was slightly off and starting to get a headache.
by noon I was full on muscle and joint aches. went home, napped, had dinner, to bed and 95% the following morning.

After the first shot I had pretty good inflammation at the injection site for about 5 days
second shot was slightly sore a the injection shot for about 4 days

I had covid about 4 months before I got the first shot - no idea if that made any difference to the reactions or not

I had a Phizer booster yesterday (first two doses last February). My arm is pretty sore today. That’s all.

And FWIW, I had COVID in July—between the first series & booster.

I got the Moderna vaccine several months ago. Nothing after the first shot. After the second, soreness at the injection site for a day or two, fever of 101 the day after.

Also, unrelentig fatigue. But that's kind of normal for me.

I haven't yet been diagnosed with cancer. Yet.
