Yeah, really (I knew a reply like yours would come). I'm not a collector. I actually use knives. Sometimes at work i need to pry open a paint can and don't feel like going up a flight of stairs for a flathead screwdriver when it's time to get the job done (just one example of many). The clone will be subject to hard use. I'm not going to spend $600 on any knife, and if I were to, i certainly wouldn't test its limits without worry.
Ohh, you knew but still went ahead ...
There is a term for that.
You are on a knife forum, where the majority feels, that knives such as you describe harms the industry.
Im not a collector either.
I just have an eclectic bunch of knives and I use the snot out of most of them.
The Terävä Puukko above is cheap as chips.
You can buy one or more and have one on the belt AND one at the bottom of the flight of stairs and one at the top.
Though why dont you just keep a knife in your pocket instead of running up and down stairs - some of them are called 'pocket knives' for a reason (okay, so some of those silly Medford bricks arent exactly pocket material for all activities - nor is a brick very good at opening paint cans).
You try to justify your purchase with an somewhat curious justification.
But collector or not, some knives there are just
no justification for.
