I always have a "Short List", but whether or not something actually gets picked up is another matter entirely! It was really weird that at the close of 2017, a
bunch of knives I had wanted, or passed on for various reasons came back to me, I'm talking about
the exact knife. So pictured here are knives that I've gotten this year - the Swish is a bit of a cheat as that is one of the knives that "came back" but 2 days before the end of the year.
ToddKnifeAndTool was selling a few knives to help buy some machinery and this was one of them. I had wanted it when I first laid eyes on it - Olamic had posted some pics on IG. But it was not inexpensive, and I hesitated. It was gone. But it came back to me, and I helped TKT get equipment to make awesome knives! win/win. He's got first dibs on it should I ever give her up!
First, I've been fortunate enough to have gotten 3 of 3 Gareth Bull drops, the center one doesn't count as it was the November drop, but the 3" Boomerang CF and 3.5" Ti Shamwari's both arrived in 2018.
The Rike Thor 4s was a thank-you gift from YouTube reviewer
EDCwithAaron, a fantastic guy. He really shouldn't have, but I'm happy to have it.
Please consider giving him a follow if you do the YT thing at all.
I've started getting back to my roots so to speak with the type of knife I fell in love with as a kid, going through catalogs and saving my quarters.
The LionSteel Roundhead was one I was unfamiliar with until
Stassa23 did a review of his on YT, and I was sold. This is the second run,
they're doing a third.
I've also got a
LionSteel Shuffle Clip Jack in white CF coming tomorrow or Wednesday. They still have some available.
Grabbed this Northwoods at KnivesShipFree on their last drop. What a cool little knife, great workmanship. I really like having these little slipjoints, just so easy
to slip in the pocket and they'll take care of 99% of office business, and 80% of what I run into on a normal day out in the field TBH. This is blue denim micarta
I was trying to get a green giraffe bone and my browser froze on my tablet, so I got on PC and got my second choice - which was my first choice until I saw
that luscious green colored giraffe bone! It was meant to be!
I actually won this Les Voorhies Model 10F on a raffle, I was on fire with raffles for a while! I'm left handed, and the regular Model 10 is useless to me, I had no
idea there was a flipper version! It's a sweet little knife, frill free but smooth and feels great in hand. I love sheepsfoot and Wharncliffe type blades.
I love TK Knives. These guys and Mike Gavac speak the same language, and both are talented makers who eschew most modern knife making tools.
I bought a Juggernaut this fall and was head-over-heels. The Kizer Mjölnir is highly recommended, but really only maintains the TK ergonomics. This is the Kyre,
of which they sent 3 to Blade HQ. 2 sold immediately, a friend purchased one of the Juggernauts. I plan to have them build me one this year if all goes right.
Finally, this is my most recent acquisition, a Shirogorov F3R in orange CF. It's gorgeous, and lives up to the hype. It's a lot for a production knife though.
TBH, there are knives as nice (action wise) that are custom made in the USA for the same or less. Koenig Arius, Holt Bladeworks Specter, Brown Knives Servo all spring to mind. Still,
love it!
Ordered and waiting:

On the short list:
