This has probably been hit on before , and I missed it.

We all have a big fixed blade knife to play Rambo with. To me a survival situation "in the wilderness" is unexpected. In an actual emergency where you are lost , injured , canoe capsized..., what knife would you most likely have with you? That is your real Survival knife.

More than likely my Survival knife would be a Schrade Sharpfinger.

I honestly cannot take part in this poll.

I rotate thru all my knifes every few hours, narrowing it down to ONE is impossible.

Right now, I ALWAYS have my Busse HHFSH with me in the field. On the sheath is a pouch with all the fire makin stuff I could need.

I have several knives I rotate between and usually carry more than one at a time. Just now at work, I have a Bark River Mini North Star on my belt and a Fehrman Shadow Scout in my day pack.

+1 for the mini North Star. It is always on my belt when I am in the bush.
If I had to bug out on no notice from the city, I would probably have my Spyderco Native in my pocket.

I have several packs and bags for different situations, so it depends on the activity I am doing as to which knife will be with me.

Mine is a RAT TAK-1 in 1095.....fantastic blade. Even better with the Normark/On Scene sheath!

if it was one that owuld most likely be on me no matter what I would have to anyone of my stockman collection which I rotate amongst pretty frequently...or a vic farmer

If I'm actually out in the bush, then it would be my Vintage Knives Model 1902 Moose and probably my Victorinox Farmer SAK as well. They're usually both in my pockets.

Any time I am actually in the woods, I will have a vic tinker in my pocket, and an F1 in a chest sheath from survival sheath.

At work (3" max blade allowed on the RR), I have a spyderco native clipped in LF pocket, vic tinker in LF pocket, and mini grip clipped in RF pocket.

Around town and at home, same as at work except for mini grip replaced with full size grip or spyderco manix.

It would be my Ritter Grip RSK Mk1. I would not necessarily have a fixed blade on me when head off into the woods, but I always have my Ritter Grip with me when I go for a hike, etc.

I sway on this one. My problem is, what I would consider a great "survival knife" isn't what I most enjoy using. So when I'm in the woods, I rarely will have a survival knife on me. For me then, it's all about learning how to survive with my chosen knife. So on that note, currently my Survival Knife is my Koster Nessmuk.

The one knife I carry every day is my Victorinox OHT. I wear Cabela's seven pocket hiking shorts or pants most of the time, so the knife just fits in the button flap knife pocket. I usually carry another folder of fixed blade along with it when I'm in the woods.
