Your top 10 necessary gadgets...

Hey I just saw this one too - love these 'what's in yer pockets' type threads. (note to self - get life)

1) Small Slipjoint - SAK soldier or farmer.
2) Locking folder - Knife du jour, usually Spyderco Military or P-Salt
3) Wallet that contains small notebook and fisher space pen.
4) Keys with small LED flashlight on the ring.
5) Zippo (don't smoke, just like having flame)
6) 1M length of paracord (wound into loop attached the car keys)
7) Watch du jour. Omega SMP for dress, Sieko Divers most of the time, G-shock for travel.
8) Digital Camera (goes almost everywhere with me)
 
Ming, what wallet do you use to carry a notebook and pen?

As for me . . .
1. Leatherman Juice CS4 (though somtimes I carry my old style Wave)
2. Surefire E1e with a KL1 attachment
3. Victorinox Classic or Golfer Plus (I like having the toothpick and tweezers and in general just a second tool)
4. Sony Clie NX80V PDA. For everything mechanical and physical that can be accomplished with a pocket knife, this can do the very same in the electronic realm
5. Deck of Cards, Bicycle 808s. I like to have them since I perform card tricks and you never know when there will be a pick up game of euchre or poker
6. Lighter. I don't smoke but you never know when you need fire. Also, it produces a flame similar to a Blazer insert and thus is convenient for soldering needs
7. Citizen Navihawk Watch. It has a variety of functions that are o so very useful. The only way this thing can get better for me is if it had a compass built into it.
9. Pen du jour as Ming said previously. Typically it's just a BIC but I've also carried a Cross Matrix and a variety of Space Pens
10. Wallet&Keys. Nothing special really. It's just the last of what I carry and find essentially useful

This one mate. Not sure of the brand. I saw it at a markets one day and snagged it. I'm writing at the moment and I'm amazed that, no matter how cool the idea it is - so cool that I can't possibly forget it - if I don't write it down it's gone. Merging my wallet and notebook pen has meant that I've always got it on me. This one is getting pretty delapidated. When it's on it's last legs I'll take it to a leatherworker and get a custom one done up.
