Since I R "comfortable" with these two for my carry, I will go ahead and name the (actually pocket worn before I got it) Case 6375CV the "winner by an hair" ... I "think" ittle stay in my pocket until post "boxing day".
For some strange/odd/unreasonable(?)/unknown reason, I've neglected my Stainless knives, preferring to carry good 'ol carbon steel.
(I dunno if that cost the Case 10375SS I won in a GAW the title.)
Of course the knife carried most (over 200 days and counting in 2024), a VIC Huntsman is disqualified, cuz I got it mid 2023.
Good luck in finding one next yearFor me, it’s a tie between the City Stock and the 39 giraffe bone rendezvous knife. So many other are close, like the 78 whiskey barrel and marrow bone.
Wow, tough call!
I'm going to try to go by your criteriaJack Black
"So, we're not looking for the fanciest custom you picked up this year, we're looking for a knife that you've CARRIED, that has absolutely hogged your pocket in a way which may have taken you by surprise."
I definitely have my favorites, but this year's knife that took me by surprise on how much I liked it & probably got carried the most out of all of them is this Schatt & Morgan Harness Jack.
I already liked its looks, the teardrop pattern just has some amazing lines to it, not to mention it's in my favorite color
I've just recently found out about the harness jack pattern this year & it has proven to be very useful for a variety of things.
But what has gotten it so much pocket time is the way that big teardrop pattern just fills my hand perfectly. It has a nice wide swell without being too much.
So I believe this one would have to be my K.O.T.Y.

This 56 is my first dedicated GEC user and my first to get a patina going. Incredible snap / walk and talk. Perfect size. Love the spear on it.
Cool to know Buck was using micarta covers that long ago.I bought three small lockbacks this year. Each one is very special to me in its own way, but the challenge here, of course, is which one is my Knife of the Year? After much deliberation I've decided it has to be this one: Buck 501 found at the local knife shop last August. Why is it so special? 1978-80 date of manufacture, burgundy linen micarta covers, stainless steel integral liners and bolsters, 440C steel blade, and Old English script tang stamp. A true classic and a great carry knife.

I probably carried this Alox SAK more, but I like the BF23 much more, especially accompanied with the cool slip case. So, for me, it's the BF23.

They're well deserved! With a non-traditional knife, I may fidget with it by opening and closing it. That's not as easy with a traditional that requires two handed operation. But, I love the texture of the BF23 and will sometimes fidget by flipping the closed knife in my hand to feel that texture. I do the same when in the slip case as it just feels so nice in the hand. I think this combination will age really, really well.Thank you for the kind words on the slip.It was one of my favorite designs to work on for sure. That tan leather you chose ages so nicely…I’ve also enjoyed that particular leather, soft yet looks great still after carry.
Wow!!! Those are absolutely all extremely beautiful selections!! Couldn’t go wrong with any! I’m definitely jelly of your BF rope knife! Haha.I love seeing this thread come up every year. Thanks Jack!
I have five knives in the running for KOTY that were in heavy rotation in 2024.

First up is the 2023 BF knife that I won in a GAW fromDocJekl . Thanks Larry! This was in the pocket so many days this year. Being #625 makes it really special to me. One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 62:5. I carried this one on days where I knew I would need some extra patience. It’s such a great pattern. I believe this one got to me in early January.

Also in January, I was blown away by this gift from my good friend Jeremy,sbh06 . It’s such an iconic knife and I had wanted one since I started visiting the forum in late 2019. This knife hogged my pocket for the front half of the year. Many apples have been slayed by this beast!

In May, Chris321Bandaid loaded me up with this white bone beauty. My knife drawer is decidedly brown and black, so this guy was a breath of fresh air. I had been viperless for several months, so I guess Chris saw that I was going through withdrawals! I love this knife.

A few months back I snagged a 33 in stag. I’ve had several of these. They make great gifts, but I wanted one that I can tote myself. I have loved having this in the drawer.

And then, holy smokes and what the heck hit the mailbox. Last month, Chris sends me this Cosmio De Benedetto lambsfoot. It maybe has been out of my pocket 2 days in the last 50. I doubt anything will be usurping it for a while. Chris is a great friend with great taste in cutlery! This would be my KOTY, but it’s jut too new and I have too many other great candidates.

So…after all of that…I have to go with the white bone 47 Viper for my KOTY.
