Roselli leuku for me. I’ve been wanting a good leuku for years now, especially every summer/autumn we visit Lapland. While this one is not made in Lapland and might be slightly ”unorthodox” I think it absolutely oozes of what good leuku is. I immediately fell in love with it and it will be hard not to take it with me to adventures.

I enjoy this thread every year, however, have not had a knife that fits the rules until this year.
I have two knives in very close competition for the KOTY of 2024. The first is the Waynorth lambfoot, which I acquired this spring. I carried it for months and was sure it was hands down to be my knife of the year.

However, along comes the Waynorth City Stock, which I have been carrying since the day it arrived.

I love them both and will be carrying one or the other for the foreseeable future. However, I believe the City Stock will see more pocket time and is therefore my knife of the year for 2024.

Patina and pocket worn look come along nicely. Just as a knife should look 😍

@waynorth CS SFO is my favorite not just for 2024 but for all my years of collecting.
Wow, congratulations, that's pretty amazing!

It’s up there for me too right next to the 2021 Bladeforums Barlow S. Huh, just realized something. Both of those knives have something in common, maybe that’s why I love them so much. Cant wait to see what Charlie is cooking next. I’ve been out of the traditional knife game for a while but always love grabbing a Waynorth to add into rotation 😁

Mr. E. Since you have now found your “perfect knife,” I am willing to take the rest of your collection because I have not found my “one” knife and it would help with my decision greatly.

Thanks in advance, I’ll be anxiously awaiting your PM.

😁

I put out a wtb for a case sowbelly to carry around. I thought it looked like a good pattern. Thankfully one of the members here had one that needed a new home. Well, turns out it is a fantastic pattern and this particular one with the canvas laminate is just so nice. It was in my pocket more than any other knife this year by a mile.

The laminate is nice and thin, making this one disapear in the pocket. The action became smooth and snappy. Tru sharp is awesome I don't care what y'all say lol! It's just the nicest knife.

Runners up are definitely the A Wright Lambsfoot and the buck 501 larrin, but they just didn't get the same amount of pocket time as the sowbelly.

My 2024 KOTY came down to three finely made lambsfoot knives.

Early in the year Paul Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 led the charge to get a group of lambsfoot knives made by Cosimo De Benedetto Cosimo De Benedetto . These arrived in late June and were an instant hit, resulting in a second group order being placed. These are great knives with fantastic jigging, carbon steel blade, and fluted bolsters. This one got a lot of use from me, but is not my KOTY.

Next up, I was part of the group that was fortunate enough to get my hands on the fruits of Barrett’s btb01 btb01 labor and collaboration with Eric ea42 ea42 . This GL-24 Albers lamb is phenomenal in every aspect, but it also is not my KOTY.

Now for my KOTY. This spring Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 graciously held a GAW in honor of his grand daughter that was soon arriving. Applying the blind squirrel theory I someone won that GAW and the result was a custom lambsfoot to be made by Cosimo. After working out the details I landed on a Washington Jack style lambsfoot knife with dyed smooth bone covers. Since its arrival this knife has been in my pocket more days than not. It is a heirloom piece that I have been thankful to Bob for every time it goes in my pocket. Thank you Bob for such a great GAW gift. THIS is my 2024 KOTY.

That’s an amazing knife mate and such a great story to go along with it.

Three stellar Lambs there my friend, and your KOTY is extra special :)

Thanks for once again hosting this annual thread Jack Black Jack Black ! I was able to obtain a long-desired GEC 47 in desert ironwood, but I have not been able to bring myself to carry it... I got a sweet peanut that I do carry some (see avatar) and enjoy. That said this LT Wright Patriot has been carried all but maybe two or three days since I received it the first week of July (and most often solo). You know me, I rarely take pics since I tend to carry the same day to day... this pic is from the summer:
