Well, 10:00 P.M. my work day is just now coming to a end. Just got done cutting out and gluing up 6 sheaths. I need a leather apprentice. Sheath work with more knives going out is about to become the death of me. Anybody want the job?
dangit, I've been bitten by the traditional folders bug...

Finally got our Christmas tree up, haha. Up, not decorated yet.

I been sharpening knives tonight... Something I noticed. The yuma that I have I'm pretty sure was made of adamantium... I damn near broke my stone trying to sharpen the yuma, and I was using hardly any pressure. I just was letting it rest on there and going at it, slowly!
I did manage to sharpen a Magua, a Delica, a 100% Daizee, and an 85% Daizee, and I cleaned up a Cami-11.
This is the thing with having so many knives.... maintenance is practically a full time job. Even the ones I don't use often have to be checked to make sure they're not rusting in their sheaths.I have half a dozen knives I need to sharpen too. I need to get out the edge pro one night and get em done. There's a couple that are convexed that I want to take back to a v grind and others that are just dull.
Anything in particular, other than that sodbuster you posted recently?
I just saw some "Smith and Sons" knives and am intrigued. They have a few Sodbuster style folders that are very nice.
I normally do have a fairly permanent station setup. However my supervisor at work asked me to touch up a couple of his blades on Thursday at the office so I had to break down the station to take it in.It DEFINITELY helps if you maintain a permanent sharpening & maintenance station so there is no setup/cleanup time involved.
Now that I have a little soddie, that particular itch is scratched. Hard to be that sort of satisfaction for $24.
I never really had an itch for traditional knives. My buck from my granddad is enough for me.
me neither, though I've had a few. Turns out there's a whole 'nother level... and that's what I just discovered. Dammit.
