You're a mean one, Mr Snark

I drank plenty of horse piss beer when I was in college and you could get a pitcher for a dollar. 50¢ Labatt's drafts were a step up. But now I can afford something decent, and I just don't really like any of that....stuff any more. It's not because craft brewing is trendy; I was brewing my own craft beers 25 years ago. My local grocery chain frequently has excellent beer for less than a buck a bottle in a 12-pack. I'll readily admit I'm a beer snob. I haven't had any beer that you can buy in a "suitcase" since I started making my own. But to each their own. Tonights one beer:

It wasn't even close to cheap, but at 8.9% ABV I can sip it and enjoy....

I was kind of thrown off from all the different hyped up beers because of the Sierra Nevada torpedo i tried... I just didnt care for it at all. So i think maybe i should just stay away from IPAs

I love Yuengling black and tans.... But now that i have tasted some really good stouts...Im pretty sure ill be focusing on them for a while.

Sorry for the heinous pic-not bad for a guy standing on a chair with a Fenix PD22 and an Iphone...i live off the grid and the solar panels starved to death sometime on Tuesday.

*LOL*
and nice rifle!

I genuinely enjoy light American beerce. I was happily drinkin' PBR long before it was hip or trendy, and I was lovin' my weight in Dutch and German beers long before they were "popular", too.

I genuinely hate almost all lagers, especially the light ones. A good pilsner is nice, but beyond that, you guys can have the rest of almost all macrobrew lager. I'd rather have a cranberry & soda (and often do).
I guess you guys really love the bottom fermentation! :D

I'm never ashamed to admit that I prefer PBR over the more exotic brews. Rock on!

if it's made down the street from you it's hardly exotic!

Yeah, it's hard to pass up a $12.99 twelve pack of Smuttynose or Long Trail. In my part of Vermont you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a microbrewery.
I have to admit a cold PBR (or better, a $24-a-24pack Warsteiner) goes down pretty good on a hot day in the forge.

To be sure. By exotic I really mean all the weird flavored stuff. You have to understand that I have live/d in the microbrew capital of America, and after awhile they all become...unremarkable. PBR was one of the first beers I ever had, and no microbrew has ever made me recall fond memories of times past. Hip or not, who gives a shit. :D

This thread should of been named "The Snarkery" or "The Brewing Snark"...... something along those lines LOL

The last six weeks have had 1 broken arm on a child, 1 ER trip for the wife with chest pains, and 3 of my teeth drilled on by the dentist today.

I'm scared to check the mail.

I may be in the market to sell a kidney.

Just to be clear, most mass produced beers in this country are light pilseners....though I doubt the way the Czechs intended. And I don't drink much of anything exotic. Just beer with hops, malt, water and yeast. A lot of it is made right here in town or across the bridge in Maine.

If I swing a dead cat I'll hit the Smuttynose brewery....and at 12.99 you're paying too much ;)....I buy whatever liquid excellence is on sale for 10.99/12. Last week it was all the SNBC beers. This week I think it's Smutty and possibly Harpoon. Actually I splurged a little at a store I was working in yesterday (thus Founder's Dark Penance). But it's the holidays....that's my excuse, anyway, and I'm sticking with it.

It's all about whatever you like, bro. By all means, drink what you enjoy! :)

In my carousing/bartending/playin' days and long after, I used to get nitwits wanting to tussle with me over my choice of poison... I never understood that. What I drink don't get you buzzed, so don't concern your nosy self with the taste in my mouth.

Hatas gonna hate, hate hate hate hate... ;) :D

I have developed a taste and appreciation for some more expensive beer.

But as Tom said, I don't have too many fond memories of drinking microbrews. Most of the good times involve the cheap stuff. :D

and that's why I very carefully said "I hate" instead of "they suck"!

Got me a Guinness from the pub draught can right now. Fits perfectly in one of the jars Guyon so likes to tease me about!

So I have a lot of options for what state to get a job in. I really don't want to live in a state that uses salt or anything on the roads that is corrosive and cause my trucks to rust through. Help me out fellas, need to know what states to avoid.
