You're favorite scout knife - I plan to buy one.

All of the knives you posted are very cool, just wanted to add that I own a Boker just like this one and have been very pleased with it. I think it is probably my favorite of all the current production scout knives. I really wish Case would bring the Junior Scout back as their vault pattern :)
Thanks, and I agree that it's a great scout knife (thanks, Greg). Here's a photo from last spring:

Me to but I wish they'd do a more proper spear point with some taper to it, they just look a bit odd with the narrow blade.

If I can only get SS than I'd at least like a proper spear blade, if they did carbon steel I could settle for the blade shape as is.

I have read much on this while I was actively pursuing old Case Knives. Basically (and it ain't 100% clear) if the knife is numbered 6445 it was made by Case in their plant, and is quite heavy duty. If it is numbered 640045R it was contracted to Camillus and made by either Camillus or Ulster. I have two versions of the Case contract knives (but never did find a nice Case built 6445). Finally you have the Case Junior Scout (104090R SS shown here) which I understand was built by Queen. You will notice that the 640045R last year of production was 2006 (right when Camillus shut down) and the Junior lasted longer, until Queen shut down. I have some pictures somewhere I will come back and post after I find them. OH

I would say the 6445 is Case made. Mine is a 1973 and the build quality, red bone covers and overall "feel" is the same as several other 70s vintage Case knives I have. And as I posted before it is heavier built than other scouts I have, with the exception of the Rough Ryder. Which is a clone of the Case. Interestingly on both the screwdriver blade it solid open with no wobble, but closed they both are easily pushed side to side within the frame. Apparently inherent to that particular pattern scout. Oh and Old Hunter Old Hunter I found my near pristine 6445 at an antique mall in Goldsboro NC 👍

Case made the 6445R, 640045 was made by Camillus. The 0045 is more lightly constructed than the 45 knives, they have thicker frames and implements.

I had one of the Case Junior scouts, made on the same frame as the junior cattle knife 63090, but I lost it. I wanted to get another but the prices have gotten above a hundred bucks. The junior cattles are too expensive too, I love cattle knives and have only one of the Case 63090's.

I'm carrying a 1977 Craftsman 95043 Scout/Utility knife. Some nice carbon steel blades, seems to hold a great edge. I had a few of these still NIB stashed away and thought it was time to pull one out an put it in the rotation for a while. I'm guessing these were made by Schrade.

My most carried scout is a Cattaraugus, I favor it over my others for the clip point blade.

Seeing a scout knife with a clip point main blade always makes me do a double-take! o_O 😁
