YouTube knife reviewers

I guess this thread is not about YouTube knife reviews but about hate for Chinese made knives.
Awhile ago, I discovered QSP knives. Much to my dismay, they seem pretty nice for the price point. So, I don't hate them, I'm disappointed that the US could never match that quality at that cost...BUT, I still do not consider ANY Chinese knives to be "high end", if simply for the fact that they are made in China...

There’s always some value in YouTube knife reviews, but you gotta be able to sift through a heap of garbage. In general I don’t find it worth while.

I’ve been gravitating more towards Felix Immler. He half-heartedly plays the “like and subscribe” game, it’s entertaining and solid information sharing, he’s not pushing his spicy onlyfans content, and I get to hear someone butcher English in a delightful way.

I only watch to get an up close look at a knife. I already have my own opinions formed & couldn’t care less about theirs 😂

I watch Metal Complex a lot, I gotta say he’s probly my favorite YouTube channel.
And he does criticize some knives, IMO he is about as fair as you can be. Everyone has different preferences, but i do appreciate his honest attempts at being unbiased about where a knife was made etc

Almost everything on this thread is opinions. Everyone's entitled to their own...

Not often being able to handle and use a Knife before buying I use YT reviews often, along with maker, steel, design etc... it has helped me make purchasing decisions. I've a few favourite reviewers and also watch others for purely entertainment value. A little common sense also re when using reviews for a purchase and I don't have an issue personally.

It's quite simple really, content makers need subject matter, and the Chinese companies have been churning out the knives. It's been like this more and more for some time now, and while I do find it rather tiresome, it's easy enough for me to watch something else. On the bright side the weekly Knifecenter drop videos take me alot less time to watch these days.

There's still one or two good ones left, but has anyone noticed that just about all the knife reviewers on YouTube have turned into cheap Chinese knife salesman?
I stopped completely watching knife reviews unless there is a specific knife I'm interested in buying, and usually then it is only for comparison portions of the review.

The only knife content I watch regularly on youboob is the what's new stuff from knifecenter or gpk (not bhq anymore cuz their stuff is too bro man bro duh).

Youtube knife reviews are the new knife magazines of the knife world. Pay enough with free shit and you get a good review. Worthless imo.

I've watched most reviewers at some point or another, MC, Nutn, Shabazz, Adv Knife Bro etc..

The only one I still watch regularly is Cedric and Ada, and not just for the knife reviews. Pretty good comic relief.

"From the park; give us a hey,Frankie; heeey! And they have a Swiss army classic Birdshot IV knife; ugh 😩 im so over every reviewer on boob tube....

I've given up on YouTube to a great degree. Seems like when I find something interesting it's either an un-boxing video (day-um, dudes, will you look at that nice job of packing and taping!) or someone taking 30 minutes to impart maybe 2-3 minutes' worth of information. There's some great material on YT but it can be maddening to find amid the B.S. that passes for "content".

Oh, and "influencers" and their many minions may be the worst idea of our time. "Famous for being famous", what a concept!

I'm gonna go out in the yard now and yell at some clouds.

I enjoy watching YT reviews. Some of my favorites are MC, Stassa23, Lefty EDC, Neeves Knives, and Shabazz.

I've been wondering if they all bite their nasty fingernails. I guess it's a pet peeve for me because I can't stand to look at peoples bitten up fingernails. Not to mention the crud that they eat while they bite them - gross!
