That is a great combo. No job to big for those.... I really like the GE and now that I see it in your hand I see it is a little bigger than I imagined.......

Is GEC their own company or are they a subsidary of Queen or someone else? They are really starting to grow on me.Where did you find the three blade? All I can find are scouts and barlows.

So-Lo, I was looking at your GE knife again and noticed the pins in the shield are about out it looks like. Just a caution hope you don't loose the shield..

I have three knives with the same shield, all of them look similar to the photos here. I hope they are not about to fall out. Has anyone here lost a shield? Does anyones TIDIOUTE shield have pins that sit flush with the shield?

That is the way the shields are made; kind of a faux dual pin indent. There is a single, centered, pin holding the shield in place.

Thanks for all the kind words

It does have a great snap, great fit and finish as well. I'm hooked! :D The new sheepsfoot barlow is incoming and I am looking at all the others

I made a little pocket out of my jean pocket so she will ride upright. Carrys very nice this way, think about carry'in like a clipped knife... But no clip. So now I can carry this BIG girl with out her getting all sideways' on me.... And we all know how women can be when they get "sideways." :D

(getting "sideways" is a southern term for, "getting a "mad on'") :D For all that did not know...

Thanks for clearing that up Mr. Latham.
BTW, I'm glad to see y'all offering the latest GEC's on your website. That primative bone barlow looks nice. And I hope we see more of that sheepsfoot blade on future models.

Well, y'all are horrible influences! I just pulled the trigger on a stained green tea bone cuban stockman from Mike Latham at CollectorKnives.Net. I'm smilin' from ear to ear already!

Thanks for that link. It appears the stock kniives don't have half stops, right?

All right SoLo! Great score! Is that "Brimstone" bone? Whatever it is, it's lovely. The GEC Cubans are nice- I still need to pick up another in bone or stag.

I just got my GEC cuban from Mike yesterday! It looks deceptively big but isn't all that much bigger than the 4" Old Timer stockman I inherited from my dad. I like it!

I wasn't sure about whether I was going to like the turkish clip blade but I do. Great F&F and walk and talk as everyone else has mentioned before. Hope to post a couple of photos later.

Thanks for the push So-Lo!

OK. Took a few quick photos under a daylight lamp since it's dark now. The color is stained green tea which I picked because it looked a lot like the color on my dad's Old Timer plus this one has 440C stainless blades.
