Yup another GEC thread!

I have several of his slip pouches. I really like them, and get compliments on them from other knifeknuts.

Tiddy oot, right? Is that how I pronounce that line of knives? Or is it Tiddy outy? I think it is the former rather than the latter. I do want to know.

I liked a member here's joke that it sounds like a Canadian saying something dirty about a woman. :D

I'm so freaking excited, today I will receive a blood red bone toothpick from tsaknives.

I've been using one of these new Sharpshooter "horizon" sheaths to carry my GEC muskrat for a couple weeks, and it's pretty cool.

It's a little bulky, but very well made.

I've always had a soft spot for stockmans. You have a good one there.

Threaded, slanted, and pinched. Not much more you can do to a bolster.

Just got this Scout that I thought y'all might like to see.
I really don't know why it took me so long to get one of these. if you have been thinking about one yourself you might want to get going, not many left around.

A little off topic, but does anyone know if the new production Tidioute acrylics will all have the guitar shield and Tango etch, or is it just for a special run (toothpick?)? Thanks for any light on this subject.

I'm so glad I looked in at this thread. Not only are there some great knives posted, but the question of GEC's corporate status has been cleared up for me. Until now I was led to believe GEC was a Queen brand. So thanks everyone for the pics & the info.

As a small pay-back all I can do is show my only GEC knife. It's a Scout (73) but the spey blade is etched 73EC in error. It's #24 in however many somehow escaped from the factory before the error was noted. In fact the canvas micarta was unfinished as well so a maker in Sheffield who is good friend sorted it out for me. The pic is before the finishing.

Once again, thanks one & all.

That's a NICE pocket beastie:thumbup:

Got the same but in Amber Bone, he's getting some knife sun-tan but not yet as even as yours:D Still got a nice tough spring despite being E_Z Open, but, I like that no wimp springs for me thank you.

Good morning.

I have been using this 111mm SAK pouch for my new model 23:thumbup:

It is inexpensive and harmless looking (no one at my work gives it a second look) plus the full flap protects baby.

I love the look of tooled leather. But had this pouch handy so I tried it for fit.
Works just right for me.

Thanks for all of the fine pictures of slippies guys :D

Are the long pulls any easier to open? I like my #73 a lot but due to how heavy the pull is and I'm not getting any stronger, this my be my first and last GEC! For a while it seemed to be breaking in and getting easier, but the other day I had to use a Leatherman to open the extra heavy secondary blade!

GREAT Pics in this thread.

Peter - Hey Neighbor. I will say this, the pulls on some of the earlier 2006 & 07 models were very stout! But most that I have from 2008 and all the ones I have from '09 are just right for me. They don't slide open that's for sure but they are not Nail breakers as you are describing. I have only purchased one recently that had a very hard pull (08 model) and it too was on a secondary blade.

Here is one of my nicer ones (sorry for the big pic)
