Zero Tolerance 0392BLKGRN

I saw the email title and was thinking oh crap I need to free up some knife $$...

Then I opened the email and saw a pic and I thought, oh good no I don't, lol

^ This is exactly what I was thinking, as I opened up my email from ZT. I opened the email, & had an identical reaction too! :thumbdn:

I was really hoping, that this notification was going to be for the, ZT Wharncliffe designed 0392.

I'm sure once people start posting pics of theirs, many will regret not buying one. I for one am glad....more chances for me to score one!

I was told back in February by my local knife dealer that he'll be getting a few units in his shop(so I've already seen the picture of this version back in Feb, didn't wow me at the time, looks too much like my brngld) , and I'll be the first in line to purchase it, it would be nice to hold it and play with it a little before I make my decision. Unfortunately he wasn't able to confirm whether or not they're getting the WC version (which I'll buy it in a heart beat)

I might try for one and just replace the green hardwear.

Good idea, it's a great knife but no thanks on the green. I don't even think I own one piece of green clothing. Well I do I guess, but not that green. They should have done a dark od green with a matte finish.

I've never been fond of the 0392 but I personally like the color scheme. Def better than the brown and gold one.

I bought and still have the first two, but I passed on the third and I think I'll pass on this one also. Unless they come out with something drastically different, I think two ZT Eclipses are enough.:) I'm really not digging the two-tone blade on the last two issues either. It looks gas-stationish. How about a Bowie, working finish blade? Now that would be sweet!

Yeah, no interest...done with the whole ZT LE fiascos...personal decision.

I'm with you on this. I think they're just a train-wreck, not only to get one when they go on sale, but in so many other ways too.

Seems stupid. Why don't they make a new design. I haven't kept a single one yet.

I love the older ZTs, but this just seems silly.

Why don't they?

Because they know if they just take an old one, put some green screws in it, and call it a Special Edition, people will be so excited about buying it that they will run around telling everyone when KAI has announced the release date...and even the release date for the list of "select" dealers.

That's why.

The KAI trend seems to be, at least since the horrid Ruby, to just see how garish and over-decorated they can make a knife and then double the price. No thanks...

I like black and green.

I like the look of this knife.

I will almost certainly never pay $400 for the privilege of owning one. $400 gets me a lot more knife, and a $150 premium for anodized hardware and it being "limited edition" is less than impressive, especially since they've released, what, THREE other 0392 models that only vary in the finishes?

Wake me up when ZT pumps out something new that isn't overshadowed by their production models. $280 gets me more 204P via the 0804CF and the 0456 that should show up on my doorstep today is .25" shorter in blade length and cost me $200 less.

And looks better.

And I can use it without feeling stupid.

And it will retain the same rough percentage of its value after use.

And there will be more parts available for servicing the knife.

And I don't have to camp out a dealers website just to get the dang thing.

I like the green, but I doubt I will shoot for one of these because of the price. I agree with Comeuppence that their production models more than suffice, which is a good thing. I am however surprised that none of The ZT Defenders Crew have chimed in on this thread yet. Wait for it...

Agreed 100%
Had one of the 0392 LE's, and found it wholeheartedly underwhelming when compared to their regular knives.

If nothing else, the quality on these knifes is he exact same as a regular ZT, which is good, but not excellent. It had all of the exact same issues that give me trouble with buying most ZT knives, and while I can be okay with these mostly minor complaints at $200, there's no way I can let it slide when they start competing in the price ranges of CRK and Hinderer.

Frankly, if you want this knife, go for it, but I would rather own an XM-18 every day of the week than another one these cookie-cutter 0392 models that have a little different icing on them.

Figured I'd see you here, John ;)

I will say that the wharncliffe model of the 0392 might be the only one I would have the smallest shred of interest in anymore.

Yeah, I got that Captain Obvious, is sarcasm a hard read for you? Moreover, learn how to use quotations, when you quote.

Trust me, he knows how to quote. He didn't mean it as an offense against you, so I recommend not making it one.

And frankly, sarcasm rarely comes well through typing, so I see no reason to get defensive if he missed it.

Unclear sarcasm is, Captain UnObvious. And I quoted your post exactly as I intended. You asked a question, and I answered. And if my answer made your question look foolish or inadvertantly pointed out your failed attempt at sarcasm, that is your fault, not mine.

Let's all fight over misunderstanding each other, guys.

Good job, guys.

You know the release date is awfully closed to 1st of April...
Maybe it's all to mislead us, and we are getting the wharncliffe version after all 😆
