How many are still waiting on their long-standing pre-orders for Zero Tolerance 0562CF & 0620CF?

I know they have been released and some have gotten theirs but some dealers have yet to receive any.

Seems like supplies have been way below demand for these.

Not talking about ZT 0562 & 0620 with G-10 and Elmax but ZT 0562CF & 0620CF with CF and M390.

I consider myself extraordinarily luckily to have secured a 0562CF, however it was not through a preorder. Lamnia had some at the time and I jumped on it immediately, which I am glad I did.

I was not so lucky with the 0620CF; I had a preorder at BladeHQ which I canceled, because it seemed very obvious that with the amount of preorders they receive, it was highly unlikely they were going to get enough product to fulfill them for a loooong while. I think the 0562CF debacle is proof of that. A member on here tipped me off to a website that was selling them below the MAP pricing, so I put in an order there. That was September 11th, and they said it would be "1-2 weeks". I have been inquiring regularly as to what the status is, and the current estimate is somewhere between now and the middle of October. Apparently they're just working with the estimates ZT is giving them, which haven't been entirely accurate so far.

The recent pre-order below MAP will be honored at that price? Did you secure your pre-order with a deposit?

I did not preorder these, because I knew that most places oversell their preorders from previous experience. They are regular production items so I will just pick them up off the Exchange when the time is right.

I paid upfront, although the transaction still is "pending" according to paypal since I don't think the funds will be taken out until the knife is shipped. It was through Dvor, which apparently is an affiliate of Optics Planet where they do these flash sales, a la Amazon's "lightning deals". So technically it wasn't a preorder, it was more of a "buy this now and we'll ship to you when we actually get them". I too was pretty confused as to how they were going around MAP pricing but we'll see if they keep that price once they actually get the knives.

Not waiting for a pre-order as these were general production and previous knives have shown that frequently the first batch or two has QC issues (not just ZT but in general). I do find it interesting that so few of these have hit the market so far, and we've seen no additional shipments since the initial batch (at least that I've seen, I could be wrong). I wonder if they are doing QC updates adjusting to lessons learned in the first batch or if they are having problems with production, getting enough M390, CF, etc. Seems most dealers got only very limited quantities of the first batch to start and nothing since.

Could be something as simple as making room for production. KAI Tualatin only has so much production capability and several models competing for their chance to be made

I'm still waiting on mine from this place to. They were 'sposed to get the knives in on the 29th but my order status has not updated and no one has responded to any of my emails. I will never order from Dvor again.

The highest serial number I have seen so far is 153. I don't know how many stores have gotten shipments. Mine is number #47. So if around 153 were released to 5 or 6 stores that is about 25 knives per store. Which seemed to be about how many House of Blades got. Of course this is all speculation.

I will patiently wait and grab one when I find one for less than $200.It might not happen at a dealer because of MAP,but it will happen at some point and time.Look at the price of the 0560's on the exchange for example.I remember the pre-orders at some dealers was $209 with free shipping and that is when KAI started to enforce MAP.It's a production model and we really don't know if it will be full production or limited production. It seems to be a limited production for the time being..A whole boatload of them could hit dealers any day, or they may just trickle in like the PM2.There may or may not be production issues and other factors as to why knives are not currently flowing to the consumer.I am sure they will show up in numbers at some point. I hope the dealers that offered pre-orders at $209 honor them.I am guessing that KAI is not too happy to see a $209 street price for a newly released knife that received the blade magazine accolade.

I ordered my 0562CF from a lesser known site for $209.
I got an email a few days later saying they didn't actually have them I stock yet and they should arrive in 2 weeks. This infuriated me because their website made it seem like they were in stock.
That was over a month ago and the CS rep emailed me yesterday saying ZT keeps giving them a generic ETA of "within the next 14 to 28 days".
I have never been so impatient waiting for a knife.
I will not pay over $209 so I guess I'll just get comfortable and wait.

I wouldn't email them, contact them through the live chat, although they're not going to tell you anything different than what they told me. I was upset with them at first but then I realized that there's nothing they can do if ZT isn't sending them the knives. However, they should be doing a much better job communicating with their customers about the constant lead time change.

Once I am done with this situation, I certainly won't be ordering from them again either. Selling items without having a firm date on their arrival just isn't a good idea, especially when you don't bother to inform your customers that the wait time could be increasing. I'm considering canceling my order and looking elsewhere, but no one seems to have them, and the savings are pretty tremendous.

I wonder what they're going to do when my Paypal payment authorization expires on October 11th, since they only have 30 days to complete the transaction when it's "pending".

Hopefully still honor the transaction and not just cancel it.

I pre-ordered a ZT 0562CF from Blade HQ on 1/26/14 and haven't heard from them since. Meanwhile, my local knife shop has them (at full price). Very nice, in some ways nicer than my Hinderer. Last time I'll pre-order. Not sure I'll like it any better than my Spyderco Southard anyhow. Likely not, but still a great knife.

I don't do preorders, but I am DYING to get my hands on one. I have a regular 0562 and love it.

Due to price or some other reason you'd care to share?

Getting excited about them when I first saw them made me overcome the ridiculous price(for a production knife). Waiting day after day made me realize that these knives don't have any spectacular locks, and they are marketed as "slicers" but will never cut as well as the Avispa I purchased in the interim. The 0562 I can already tell will be on par with the PM2, which has actually become almost too thick to be called a slicer in my opinion. Folding knives are not for prying or fixed blade purposes, so I do not need a tank. I believe folding knives are for quick deployment and maximum cutting ability. In that perspective, these knives are pretty but basically more of the same trend. So, I passed. Lol.
