Zero Tolerance 0801 Series Goodness

Ok... I really need to stay off the forums this late at night. I just purchased the BW one from Kershawguy. This is the 4th time I'm purchasing a variant of the 0801.

The 0801 is such a great knife and all the different variations. I'm hoping this continues and we see more and more.

I just got mine in the mail and really like it. The black washed finish looks awesome on this one. One thing I noticed is it is a little easier/requires less force on the flipper to open the knife than on my past 0801s. I don't know if it's a weaker detent or what. Not a bad thing but just an observation. I do have a quick question though. Does anyone else's rattle when the knife is closed? It only does it when the knife is closed, nothing bad but just a minor rattle I hear.

It sure looks nice.

I think the DLC helps with the smoothness of the flipper action.

See if any screws are a little loose including the lockbar insert screw, handle screws and clip screws.
 
Just got my 0801bw this week to compliment my standard 0801. It is perfectly executed and the bw looks amazing. Very happy with it.

Problem is that it came in the same shipment as my new zt 0562 and hasn't seen any pocket time yet. That 0562 is an excellent knife!
 
Just ordered a black wash for 167 shipped!! Can't wait to get it, it's my first kvt knife...was going to get the 0562, but can't resist the blk wash and the price, it was hard to pass up....no doubt I will get the 562 down the road

Is it a real quiet rattle? My 801 has this, no screws are loose, so i figured it's the bearings. Mine will do it opened or closed, but harder to hear when opened. And I'm talking a very quiet rattle. Mine deploys flawlessly, has a nice detent, and good lockup with no play in any direction.
 
Mine will rattle while half open/closed. It's the blade stop pin. The pin has a loose fit and rattles when the blade isn't making contact
 
I really want to try one of these but I've picked up zt 550, 561, 562cf and 2 spyderco milies and 2 pm2 in the past few weeks. I supposed I just have to slow down and pace out my purchases.
 
I have 2 0801's. My latest being the black wash version.

I have a bunch of zt's and I must say that my 0801's are the most perfect of all of them. I have 562, 301, 0550, etc and all of them exhibit a small amount of vertical play. I think it's a form of lock bar flex, but my 0801's are absolutely solid.
 
Ironically my 0562 has tightened up as of this evening. Maybe it needed a little break in to settle in.
 
Just got this one from Kershaw Guy the other day. Instantly one of my favorite carry knives...

It's not the stop pin on mine that rattles, i get the noise in any position, quietest in the open position. If i put pressure on the pin i still hear it.

I'll take mine apart when i have time, and give it a good look.
