Zero Tolerance 0801 Series Goodness

Thinking about picking one of these up as soon as I get some extra money. Then I want to send it off for a regrind to thin it out some, make it a real nice slicer. Just trying to decide what color combo would look the best. Thinking the black wash with the satin blade from the regrind would look sweet.

Visuals matter so thanks for posting your very relevant picture.

The fault is mine but at least you got a good deal just in time. :)

Funny you say that - looking at your pictures is what got me studying the shape of the handle a little more closely, which is what won me over. That's when it dawned on me the curvature of the handle (spine side in particular) is reminiscent of my DPX HEFT 4" fixed blade, which is one of my favorite fixed blades in terms of comfort. The 0801 is everything I thought it would be and more.

I'm excessively delinquent in posting here. Earlier in this thread, I asked about the 0801USN (the only one that I was missing and didn't even know existed until RamZar's post), and poolhustler contacted me a few days later to offer me an extra one that he had! I couldn't believe it! What a guy! Here it is:

Besides the production models, I couldn't resist picking up a little colorful cerakote fun as well:

Great pics! And yes, poolhustler is a great guy, I can vouch for him from my first-hand experience.

PoolHustler also helped me get my 0801USN. One of the true gentlemen, enablers and knife buddies out there.

RamZar... This is a great idea! You might be able to send one to a shop that does gun blueing (like Heirloom or Ford's [not the car manufacturer]) and then stonewash as darkangel said... That sounds like that would be a great finish on an already great knife.

Hot blue the whole thing, then stonewash? I'm sure someone would be willing to try the process.

In turn making it harder to sharpen I assume?

Yes but not by much. Both M390 and Elmax as high carbon and vanadium steels require more advanced sharpening tools and skills. ZT 0801 in M390 can only be had in 0801CF and 0801BRWCF but both are limited edition with premium pricing on the secondary market only.

Thanks for the info man

That Ceracoat look amazing! Who does that?

I purchased those from a smaller knife shop operating out of CA. I don't know if I'm allowed to reveal the dealer. They are beautiful knives. I actually carried the zombie green one for the first time yesterday.
