Zero Tolerance 560, Pictures and First Impression

That puddle you see, and that dripping you hear? That's the sound of me drooling. Dammit, I want my 561!!! :D

Congrats!

That knife is a thing of pure beauty, rolled into a blade that looks like it can survive a hand grenade going off by it.

Thanks guys, glad everyone is enjoying the pics and getting hyped up for their 560/561's. Well worth it guys!

One thing to note after fondling the 560 today, the thumb studs are pointless. I can't open it using them for the life of me. I'm going to lose the pivot when I get home and see if it helps without having to overly adjust it.

So it looks to me like the lockbar cutout is larger on this knife than on one of the recent pics posted by Thomas... ?

Please tell us if that fixes it. I can't believe with the KVT system that it wouldn't be smooth and easy to open either way. Thanks TS.

I wonder if it could be hard to open with the thumbstuds just due to the geometry of the design. I have several flippers which are really hard for me to flip with the thumbstuds because of their placement. I have to use a different technique which is more of a sideways movement than straight out. Hard to explain I guess...

I have multiples of each coming on pre-orders 0560, 0561, 0777 but couldn't wait any longer

I just pulled the trigger on one that someone has in stock, It will ship tomorrow

Will take some good pictures when it gets here

This month will be like another Christmas, Have 2 Fluted Titanium Military's pre-orders that I received confirmation on that will ship next week

I need to have a fire-sale

I've got a hinderer xm-24, crk wood inlay seb and 2 sak's coming this week.

Ya no matter how hard or what angle I try it doesn't move with the thumb stud.

The lock bar is getting stuck or jammed and it's hard to disengage after I open it. Is this normal with new knives? Never had it happen before. It happens mostly when I flick it open hard. Anyway for an easy fix?

yes it is normal for ti framelocks.try marking the tang of the blade with a sharpie or pencil where the lock meets

I canzt wait for mine......isnt the jimping on the flipper on the wrong side?

I thought the thumbstuds on most ZTs were only thumbstuds as a secondary function, and were primarily blade stops?

I noticed the lock interface is cut at a little steeper angle than an XM-18 for e.g. so you could expect a little sticking on hard openings. The sharpie or pencil + repititions usually works.

Flipper jimping is the same as an XM folder. :)

Yeah, for the life of me I can't figure out what the jimping on that side is supposed to be doing...

For a solid forefingertip grip - when using a non-bearing Hinderer flipper, there's a stored energy technique to flipping them open that entails bent fingers with explosive energy channeled through the flipper and causing the blade to fly open. Physics stuff?? I just give mine a lttle wrist assist. :D
